After graduating from the University of Manitoba, Al began his career as a project manager with John B. Parkin and Associates. He moved to Kingston and joined the firm Drever & Smith and became a partner in 1966. Two years later, he started his own practice. He became a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Institute of Architecture in 2006. Al's commitment to understanding his clients and bringing their visions to life through inspired, innovative architecture has earned him the respect and admiration of some of the region's most demanding clients. And his passionate insistence on ensuring that each building is fresh and remarkable has earned him acclaim from the St. Lawrence Valley Society of Architects, as well as municipal, provincial and federal governments.
