Danielle Glover - VP

As Vice President, Danielle helps companies and organizations throughout Colorado navigate the policymaking process. She represents clients in diverse industries, including transportation, construction, health care, technology and hospitality. With expertise in coalition building, grassroots mobilization and the endorsement process, Danielle has been instrumental in projects including the Colorado Convention Center Expansion, the Tin Cup Whiskey Resort in Blackhawk and Lyft's ability to make Denver one of its strongest-performing markets in the United States. She has also led campaigns for statewide referendums, local initiatives and regional transportation projects. Danielle was named a "Who's Next in Politics" Rising Star by Denverite in 2018, and she's an alumnus of leadership programs including the Urban Land Institute Colorado Partnership Forum and Impact Denver. Passionate about creating vibrant communities that are economically and environmentally sustainable, she serves as a member of the Urban Land Institute and C4 Board Chair of Cobalt. Previously, Danielle held positions at the Colorado Chamber of Commerce and one of former Congressman John Salazar's campaigns on the Western Slope. She earned her bachelor's degree in political science and communications, as well as a master's in public administration, from the University of Colorado Denver.

Joe Stanoch

Joe Stanoch joined CRL in 2018, bringing to the team an in-depth understanding of politics at the national level. Prior to joining our firm, he served for several years on the staff of a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, an office that (according to a 2015 study by Vanderbilt University and the University of Virginia) was one of the most impactful and effective in the nation. Stanoch's experience in crafting legislation on such major political topics as trade, agriculture, education, technology, and telecommunications brings to the CRL team (and the Denver community) enormous insight into rapidly-changing public affairs. In this Senior Legislative adviser role, Joe worked closely with constituent groups, trade associations, and other legislative offices in a focused effort to build coalitions resulting in successful bipartisan legislative campaigns. He also oversaw communications with federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of State, the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Commerce. After completing his MBA focused on government affairs and the highly regulated industries of energy, healthcare, finance and tech, Joe relocated to Denver to join CRL. He earned his bachelor's degree from George Washington University in Washington D.C. and his MBA from the University of Minnesota.

Kim Kucera

Kim is a partner and the chief strategy officer. She has vast expertise in real estate and land use, public finance and emerging technology. Kim has played a key role in many projects and campaigns throughout the Front Range, from helping Lime launch scooters in Denver to paving the way for the Fox Park mixed-use redevelopment and securing public financing for the former CDOT Headquarters site. Kim also helped expand funding for the Vera Institute of Justice, a national organization that supports publicly funded legal defense for immigration issues. She's passionate about collaboration in local government, creative approaches to land-use and development, and access to affordable housing. Kim serves on the Civic Ventures Board, the President's Leadership Council at the Museum of Nature and Science, and the Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver Advocacy Committee. Prior to joining CRL Associates, Kim discovered her knack for building relationships and finding common ground while working as an aide to Denver City Council members Debbie Ortega and Judy Montero. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Colorado State University and a master's in social work from the University of Houston.

Maria Garcia Berry - Founder

Maria Garcia Berry is the founding partner of CRL Associates. She launched the firm in Denver in 1981, establishing CRL with a commitment to strategic, insightful government and public affairs. Maria is well known for her ability to navigate complex issues, many never-before-encountered in the rapidly evolving economies in which we work, always striving to find a productive solution that benefits each party involved. She has represented many CRL clients for more than two decades, thanks to her strong ability to connect with her clients' vision, strategically focused ahead of their organizational challenges along the way. Her reputation extends well beyond her home State of Colorado, often invited to consult and present on topics such as public transit development and creative public-private partnership building. With a personal passion for mentorship and entrepreneurship in her hometown, Maria is also highly active in the Cuban American communities in Denver and across the country. She serves on the Boards for the Biennial of the Americas, the Cuba Emprende Foundation, and the Cuba Study Group.

Nathan Batchelder

Nathan is a senior associate. His expertise includes land use, transportation, zoning, regulatory initiatives and grass-roots coalition building. He has worked on a wide variety of high-profile development and entitlement projects while navigating complex political environments. Nathan is passionate about cities and their built environment. He enjoys watching them grow, thrive and progress into their own unique identities. He's also interested in the nexus of land use and transportation and how they intertwine to strengthen the economy and our quality of life. With nearly 15 years of experience working in both state and local government, his past roles include working as a policy aide for four different city councilmembers in Denver and San Diego. In Denver, Nathan served as a policy aide for both Councilwoman Judy Montero and Councilman Chris Nevitt, where he worked on a range of special land use, transportation and zoning issues. During his tenure with Denver City Council, he led Denver's first ever on-street bike corral parking program on South Pearl Street, which earned a 2014 Mayor's Design Award. After working for the Denver City Council, Nathan served as a legislative analyst for Denver's Excise and Licenses Department, where he implemented several major regulatory initiatives. His work spearheading the adoption of Denver's first-ever regulatory framework for short-term rental licenses allowed the city to regulate and tax short-term rentals such as Airbnb and Vrbo properties. He earned a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in political institutions from California State University San Marcos and a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in local government from the University of Colorado Denver.

Roger Sherman

Roger Sherman joined CRL Associates with a highly regarded reputation for his skills in coalition building, community outreach and public positioning. He is experienced at forging links between diverse interests and groups, applying careful listening while treating all sides with respect. He approaches CRL's work with the mentality that there is no problem too complicated to solve or idea too big for finding common ground. Roger has worked significantly with clients in the transportation and public policy sectors, and has been a strategic consultant to a number of transportation-related initiatives in urban markets around the country. He also has a strong history of work in the area of campaign strategy, from top to bottom - budgeting, campaign planning, fundraising, marketing, and more. He is an alumni of Colorado State University, and today serves on the Board of Directors for SafeHouse Denver, helping victims of domestic violence.

Sean Maley

Sean Maley is a highly respected voice on a wide range of public policy and land use issues in Denver and across the Colorado Front Range. Since joining CRL in 2006 and in his capacity as a Partner and Chief Business Development Officer, Sean has represented a variety of business groups, non-profit organizations, landowners, developers, trade associations, utilities, sporting teams, special districts, and more through a myriad of successful projects and public processes. He was a key player in the re-write of the Denver Zoning Code, completed in 2010, and his nuanced knowledge of the City and region's land use, planning, and development environment is quite possibly unrivaled. Sean joined CRL with a background in public policy and passion for local government, having previously served as an aide for a busy and diverse Denver City Council office (District 10, Jeannie Robb). He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado Boulder and a master's degree in political science, with an emphasis on public policy and leadership, at the University of Colorado Denver. Sean often contributes his expertise with groups such as the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and Jeffco EDC and he also volunteers his time with community groups like the First Tee - Colorado Rocky Mountains and the Parkinson's Association of the Rockies. Sean was named one of Colorado's Top 25 Young Professionals of 2018 by Colorado Biz Magazine.

Slavica Park

Slavica is a senior associate. Her expertise spans public policy, government and public affairs, land use and community engagement. Slavica possesses a unique ability to build solutions-focused coalitions, and in her time with CRL Associates she has worked on numerous projects, including the National Western Stock Show and Fox Park Denver. Slavica has built her career serving communities and stakeholder groups. She spent many years as the Dean of Adult Education at Emily Griffith Technical College, a pioneering public college with a reputation for uplifting Colorado's economy through accessible, quality adult education. Slavica has also held leadership positions at the Colorado Department of Human Services, Focus Points Family Resource Center, and the Denver Housing Authority. She formerly served as the Commissioner of the Denver Human Rights and Community Relations Advisory Council and the Vice President of the Colorado Refugee Network Council, championing efforts to improve the lives of refugee and low-income communities in Colorado at both organizations. Slavica has been honored as one of the Denver Business Journal's "40 Under 40" in recognition of her work to provide meaningful economic and social opportunities for Denver's marginalized populations, especially immigrants and refugees. Additionally, she was named a finalist for 9NEWS' "Leader of the Year" award. Slavica earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Darmstadt (Germany), as well as a bachelor's degree in organizational development and a master's degree in organizational leadership from Regis University.
