ADAM JENKINS - VP

Adam joined Crown Capital's Calgary office in 2019 to grow the investment portfolio in Western Canada. Adam is a professional engineer with over 12 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, in both small and large cap companies. Prior to joining Crown Capital, Adam was the Vice President of Corporate Development at Marquee Energy, where he led business development and financial analysis. Adam has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Alan Rowe

Alan Rowe is a Partner with Crown Realty Partners, an investment management firm. Prior to July 2007, Alan was Senior Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Crown Life Insurance. Alan is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Chartered Accountant. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Chris co-founded Crown Capital in 2000. As president and CEO, he is responsible for directing Crown Capital investment functions, including deal origination, underwriting and portfolio management. Chris also manages client relations. Prior to starting Crown Capital, Chris was an investment manager for Crown Life Insurance Company. In this role, he was responsible for the investment management of Crown Life's equity and fixed income investments, asset liability management, and derivative management. Chris has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Guelph and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

John Brussa

Mr. Brussa is currently Chairman of BD&P LLC, an energy focused law firm in Calgary, Alberta and a Partner in the Tax Group. He has wide experience in governance and corporate strategy as a result of his serving on a significant number of boards of directors over various industries during the last 30 years. He has been recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential People in Alberta by Alberta Venture magazine and one of Canada's leading lawyers by Lexpert magazine. He is a past Jarslowsky Fellow at the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business, a past Governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation and currently serves as a mentor in strategy at the Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership in Business.

Robert Gillis

Rob Gillis is President and Director of Thornridge Holdings Limited, a private holding company with interests in High Liner Foods Inc., Envirosystems Inc., Annapolis Group Inc., and Glen Arbour Golf Course. Rob also serves as Chairman and CEO of Hawthorne Capital Inc. and as a Director of several subsidiary companies within the Group. Hawthorne is a mid-market merchant bank focused on acquiring and growing established enterprises, primarily in Atlantic Canada. Rob also has professional practice experience in assurance and business advisory services including business valuations, forensic accounting and litigation support.

SHANE MELANSON

Shane joined Crown Capital full-time in 2010 as a Controller. Prior to Crown, Shane was President and CEO of a management and accounting company, and Controller for Deer Valley Golf Corporation. Shane has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Saskatchewan and holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation.

Steven Sharpe

Steven has extensive senior leadership and public company governance experience across a range of industries. He is currently Managing Director of The EmBeSa Corporation, a private consultancy, and a director of Dundee Corporation and Essential Energy Services Ltd. Most recently, he was Chairman of Madalena Energy Inc. and its Interim CEO. Steven was also Chairman and CEO of the Prime Restaurants Royalty Income Fund (subsequently Chairman of Prime Restaurants Inc.) until its acquisition by Fairfax Financial. From 2002 to 2007, Steven was a co-founder and co-Managing Partner of Blair Franklin, a Toronto-based investment bank. A lawyer by training, he graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and practiced for close to 20 years at Torys and at Davies, Ward & Beck.
