Hugh Sarjeant

Experience Hugh has retired from Cumpston Sarjeant. He does however continue to provide some consulting services to Cumpston Sarjeant. Hugh worked as an actuarial analyst with the Commonwealth and Victorian governments, and with Campbell and Cook. He was a director of HB Sarjeant and Associates, John Ford and Associates and Mitchell and Co before founding Cumpston Sarjeant Pty Ltd. He has written valuation and stochastic projection systems for superannuation funds, life insurers, workers compensation schemes and insurance pools. Qualifications Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Melbourne) Diploma of Computer Science Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) Cumpston Sarjeant is an actuarial consulting firm. We provide traditional actuarial services, and employ actuarial techniques to provide advice in a broader range of areas. Richard Cumpston

Experience Richard has retired from Cumpston Sarjeant. He does however continue to provide some consulting services to Cumpston Sarjeant. Richard worked as a consulting actuary since 1971, as a partner in ES Knight and Co, a director of William M Mercer Campbell Cook and Knight, a director of John Ford and Associates and Australian general insurance practice leader for Tillinghast Towers-Perrin. In February 1997, together with Hugh Sarjeant, he founded Cumpston Sarjeant Pty Ltd. Richard has a PhD in actuarial studies and as a director of Cumpston Sarjeant, he prepared actuarial reports for the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority for general insurers. Nearly all of his consulting work has been in general insurance, and he has published over 100 papers on aspects of general insurance.
