Dr. Gene Kim

Dr. Gene Kim is a native of Chicago, where he completed his undergraduate degree and medical school at Northwestern University Medical School. He served his orthopaedic residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. In addition, Dr. Kim completed a one-year fellowship training in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the State University of New York in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Kim is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Jeffrey S. Hoskins

Born and raised in Independence, Missouri, Dr. Jeffrey S. Hoskins attended college and medical school at the University of Missouri, graduating summa cum laude and cum laude, respectively. He remained there to complete his residency in orthopaedic surgery. During his orthopaedic training he received the Litton Award in Excellence and the Gainor Award for leadership in education. Following his residency, Dr. Hoskins completed a spine surgery fellowship at OrthoIndy in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Hoskins is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is currently a member of the American Medical Association, the Ohio State Medical Association, and the North American Spine Society. Dr. Hoskins is also a faculty member at Wright State University as Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Hoskins has undergone specialized training in all areas of spine care, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar conditions in adults. Dr. Kevin J. Paley

Dr. Kevin J. Paley attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopaedics at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio, and a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Paley has completed specialized training in the arthroscopic management of sports injuries to the shoulder and knee. He has a large total joint practice, specializing in total joint replacements of the knee, hip, and shoulder in younger, more active patients. Dr. Paley is on staff at: Kettering Medical Center Miami Valley Hospital Sycamore Hospital

Dr. Matthew Romer

Dr. Matthew Romer was raised in Dayton, OH. He obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from Indiana University. Dr. Romer completed an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Wright State University in Dayton, OH and a Fellowship in Hip and Knee Replacement at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. He specializes in robotic knee replacement, anterior total hip replacement, partial knee replacement, and outpatient total joint procedures. Dr. Romer lives in Dayton with his wife and 4 children. He is a member of the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Paul A. Nitz

Dr. Paul A. Nitz graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana, and completed his orthopaedic surgery training at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. He received specialized fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the Methodist Sports Medicine Center in Indianapolis under the direction of Donald Shelbourne, MD, team physician for the Indianapolis Colts and Orthopaedic Consultant to Purdue University. Dr. Nitz served in the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge with the rank of Major. While in the service he served as a staff orthopaedic surgeon and later as chief of orthopaedic surgery at Reynolds Community Hospital in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Dr. Nitz is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Nitz serves on the editorial board for The Physicians and Sports Medicine Journal. He provides sports medicine coverage for various high school, college and professional teams in the Dayton, Ohio area.

Dr. Ryan Bauman

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Ryan Bauman received his undergraduate and medical degrees summa cum laude from St. Louis University. Dr. Bauman was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, New York and a hip and knee replacement fellowship at Colorado Joint Replacement in Denver, Colorado.

Julie M. Shore

Matthew Hodges

Dr. Hodges received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky, then completed an internship in Soft Tissue Pain at the Raleigh Back Care Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. From there he went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree as a member of the charter class of 2001 at the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky. Dr. Hodges completed a rotating internship in specialty and general medical services at Saint Francis Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He then completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A fellowship in the Interventional Pain Program at Temple University/Western Pennsylvania followed. Dr. Hodges is board-certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties: Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with sub specialization in Pain Medicine.

Molly Tatum

After she earned her bachelor's degree in health education and athletic training from the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Molly A. Tatum went on to pursue her master's in sports medicine at the University of Miami, Ohio, followed by her doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Ohio University. She completed her residency in orthopaedic surgery at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine orthopaedic surgery at MedStar Union Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Tatum has served as a team physician for universities and professional sports teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, Washington Wizards, Morgan State University, Loyola University (MD), Towson University, U.S. Women's Lacrosse, and Baltimore Blast (MASL). Dr. Tatum is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Association of North America, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Tatum is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), has been certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification, and is board-eligible with the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Richard W. Forster

Richard W. Forster, MD, received his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. An orthopaedic residency followed at Montreal General Hospital. Dr. Forster received a fellowship in joint replacement at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Hospital and at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. He served as overseas registrar at both facilities. Dr. Forster is certified in orthopaedic surgery, both by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Forster is a founding member of the Kettering Joint Center and has served as the Medical Director of the program since its inception almost 10 years ago. He has practiced in Dayton for over 25 years. Since 2001, he has performed over 7,500 joint replacements. Dr. Forster is on staff at: Kettering Medical Center Miami Valley South

Todd Evans

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Systems Management from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, Todd M. Evans has spent his professional career in management and leadership positions in the medical field. Mr. Evans serves as the CEO of the Orthopedic Institute of Dayton and as the Executive Director of the Greater Dayton Surgery Center. While managing the multi-million dollar, multi-physician OID surgical practice, Mr. Evans successfully negotiated the buyout and transition of the GDSC to an orthopaedics-only facility.
