DAVID'S AUTOS - Key Persons
Anna bought her very first vehicle from John at David's Auto Sales while she was a Kilgore College student and working at Super 1 Foods. Anna is a 2010 graduate of Longview High School and a 2015 graduate of Kilgore College. She has five siblings, with four of them having graduated from LHS. Anna attends Grace Creek Church where she volunteers with youth ministries. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with family, especially her nephews and nieces. She also likes to exercise, read a good book and listen to good music.
In 1982 David Coward started Economy Motors as a rent-a-car agency. Most of the rentals were long term thus started "Buy Here Pay Here" where David financed his rent cars. In 1983 David started David's Auto Sales. David sold the business in 2003 to his son, John, with his only requirement being for John to take care of all his old customers and to thank them for their business every time he saw them. David passed away in 2007, but his legacy lives on. Now a third generation, David's grandson Carson, has started helping out at the dealership.
John Coward (Little David) purchased David's Auto Sales from his father, David, in November 2003. John grew up at the dealership where his first job was picking up cigarette butts for a penny a butt. It was quite the first job as most everyone in the 80s smoked, especially while looking at cars. Eventually John progressed to washing cars with a chamois dry for a $1.25/car before moving on to mechanics and so on until he was ready to take over ownership of the business.
David's Auto Sales is closed on the weekends allowing for John to take to one of the local lakes to fish.
Born and raised in Henderson, Terry attended Henderson High School until 1985. Terry started working at David's Auto Sales in 2017. He previously worked at Dick's Muffler from 1992 to 2017 when Dick passed away. Terry is married with one daughter and two grand kids. In his free time he likes to watch football, ride four wheelers and fish.
