Julie Williams

Julie Dawson Williams has owned and operated Dawson Insurance Agency since 2013. Julie graduated from Bangor High School in 1999 and Bowdoin College in 2003. After graduating from college, Julie moved to Washington, D.C. to work in the office of U.S. Senator Susan M. Collins in several capacities, and finally as the Legislative Correspondent on healthcare, art, and historic preservation issues. In 2006, Julie started working for the New England Council as Deputy Director of Federal Affairs, specializing in economic development advocacy on Capitol Hill representing the six New England states. Julie focused on higher education, healthcare, and technology policy. In March of 2008, Julie and her husband returned to Bangor. Julie is proud to be back in her hometown working in the family business as the Broker/Owner & CEO for ERA Dawson Bradford and Dawson Insurance Agency. Since joining the Dawson team, she has established new leadership, implemented cutting-edge technology services for agents and clients, overseen a refresh of the brand, and redesigned the client communications plan. In 2013, Julie and her husband, Brian, purchased the companies to officially become the second-generation owners of these family-owned and operated companies. Julie currently serves as a director for Northern Light Health (NLH) and is Chair of the Nominating Committee for NLH. Previously, Julie has volunteered on the City of Bangor Planning Board, the Penobscot Theatre Company, Fusion:Bangor, and other local and state-wide organizations. Julie lives in Bangor with her husband, two sons, and two dogs.
