Don Deason

Don Deason began his aviation career at the age of 15, when he began working at Independence Memorial Airport in Independence, MO, while taking a 2 year aviation vo-tech class at Fort Osage High School. After graduating high school until 1989 he had numerous aircraft jobs, including shop manager at Talley Aviation at Richards-Gebaur Memorial Airport. From 1989 to 1992 he was a sheet metal mechanic at TWA at the Kansas City International Airport. In 1992, Don decided it was time to start his own aircraft repair business. He rented a small T-Hangar at Miami County Airport in Paola KS, and Deason Aircraft Services, Inc. was born. In 2001, Deason Aircraft Services expanded into the 9000 square foot facility it is today. Don's son, Travis Deason, began his aviation career at an early age as well. Through childhood he accompanied Don to work on weekends and during the summer. He began working full-time with Don in 2005 after graduating from high school. While working full-time, he attended classes at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Kansas City in 2008, and obtained his A&P License in 2009. Don and his son Travis still work together today.
