At Durham Family Court Clinic (DFCC), we continue to struggle with the ever and ongoing deeply disturbing news around the world, including right here in Canada. We also are very much aware of the ongoing impact, feelings of hopelessness, and personal toll this has on Black colleagues, friends, neighbours, young people and families who we serve, and the broader community. As a community-based organization, it is incumbent on us, and, our social responsibility that we do our part to provide hope, to impact change now and for the future... To our Black colleagues, friends, neighbours, communities and young people and families we serve, we are committed to stand with you. We are committed to and are taking action to disrupt oppression and fight anti-Black racism... Although we are open for business that day, as an organization we will honour this Day and stand with our Indigenous colleagues, friends and neighbours as we individually and collectively remember, reflect, learn and take..
