MCNEILL & BURNEY - Key Persons

Adam was raised in Burleson, Texas and graduated from Burleson High School. He then attended Texas Wesleyan University where he majored in Political Science and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science. After graduating from Wesleyan undergrad, Adam received a full tuition alumni scholarship and attended Texas Wesleyan University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 2006. He served as a Notes and Comments Editor for the Texas Wesleyan Law Review during his time in law school. The year following law school, Adam served as the law clerk for the Honorable Justice Bob McCoy of the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth. After completing his clerkship Adam spent time in civil practice in Fort Worth. Adam was later hired by the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney where he was responsible for handling all phases of criminal cases from plea negotiation to jury trials. During his time with the District Attorney's Office Adam tried numerous cases before juries, including a multitude of DWI cases. After leaving the District Attorney's Office, Adam joined Mark D. Scott in private practice. Adam and his wife Mary have made their home in Burleson with their two children Mallory and Blaine.

Born in Charleston, Illinois. Mr. McNeill graduated from Cumberland High School in 1997 and went on to attend Depaul University where he earned his B.A. in Political Science. After graduating from Depaul University, Mr. McNeill attended Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida and graduated in 2004. Mr. McNeill moved to Texas in 2005, and became licensed to practice law in Texas in 2006. In 2006, Mr. McNeill began working at Mark D. Scott and Associates in Fort Worth where he handled a wide range of cases, including felonies, misdemeanors, traffic tickets, and general civil litigation, including personal injury, with an emphasis on divorce and family related cases. Mr. McNeill has practiced all across the metroplex, including primarily in Tarrant, Dallas, Johnson, Denton, Parker, and Wise Counties. In 2010, he accepted a position at Withers & Withers, P.C in Dallas where he practiced almost exclusively family law. While at Withers & Withers, P.C., Mr. McNeill successfully negotiated or tried numerous family related cases, including divorce, child custody, paternity, and child support enforcement cases.

Mark Scott graduated from Aledo High School in 1995 and then attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Tx. He graduated with his Bachelors of Art in Political Science with a minor in History in 1998. He attended Texas Tech School of Law in the Fall of 1999 and graduated in December 2001. He is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Texas by the Supreme Court and admitted in several Federal Courts as well. Mark has spent his legal career defending the accused in criminal cases and has tried more than 50 cases to a jury. He has handled all types of cases ranging from Possession of Marijuana to Capital Murder. He has been named as a Super Lawyer by Ft. Worth Magazine several times.
