Brett Peters is also a Florida native and Bishop Verot High School graduate. After graduation, Brett attended Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, on a football scholarship. After college, Brett moved home and joined his family in the construction business. Since joining the company, Brett has gained a wide variety of experience in every trade and in-field management. Brett is also a state-certified building contractor.
Brian Peters is a Florida native and Bishop Verot High School graduate. Brian started his career in the construction business at age 14, working summers with his father, learning as much about every trade as possible. Brian is a state-certified building contractor with over 30 years of "hands-on" field experience.
Eric Flint is the newest addition to the DMI Home Builders team. Eric is a Florida native; he graduated from the University of Florida in 2001 (BS in Industrial & Systems Engineering) and moved to the Space Coast to begin his career in the Aerospace Industry. In 2020, Eric decided to return to his hometown and join his family in the construction business. Eric brings nearly 20 years of manufacturing process development, manufacturing leadership experience, and a solid lean Six Sigma tools foundation to help DMI Home Builders continuously improve.
Marla Peters, our president, has lived in Fort Myers since 1955. She has seen the area grow from a sleepy small town to a bustling and fast-growing metropolitan area. Marla attended local public schools and graduated from Edison Community College (AA) and the University of South Florida (BA in Business Administration). Marla is a Florida Certified Public Accountant and a Florida State Certified Building Contractor.
After practicing public accounting and serving as an executive in the construction supply business for nearly 20 years, she joined DMI as its president. Marla's education and experience in the industry have provided her with the qualifications necessary to keep DMI a leader in high-quality, affordable homes in Southwest Florida.
Mike Peters, our general contractor and vice president, is a Chicago native and a graduate of Drake University (BS in Business Administration) and Northwestern University (BS in Civil Engineering). Mike moved to Florida in 1975 and started working in the construction industry. Working and learning the business from the ground up, he gained experience in every trade and became one of the state's youngest certified general contractors.
In 1977, DMI was founded to provide affordable, high-quality housing to Southwest Floridians. In 1981, Mike founded DMI's sister company, The Triad Group, to provide high-quality custom residential and commercial construction services to the greater Southwest Florida area. Mike's education and many years of "hands-on" experience in the Florida construction industry make him a remarkably qualified general contractor.
