As the President of Dow Construction and VP of D&D, David Dow is a Class A General Contractor with three decades of construction experience. His focus is project estimating, value engineering and successful project management of all jobs. He is a former US Army Sergeant and Combat Engineer.
David has been successful in the development and ownership of three commercial buildings in the Portsmouth Economic Incentive Zone. These buildings have helped to revitalize abandoned property and the Portsmouth Commerce Park. The companies are headquartered in one of the buildings at 820 Port Centre Parkway.
In his spare time, David's hobbies and interests include hiking, woodworking and hunting. He also enjoys riding his Harley Davidson.

David Wilkinson is a LEED AP BD+C and joined Dow Construction 18 years ago. He has played an integral role in the development of our millwork division. Not only does he bring leadership to our team, but he also brings many years of experience in cabinet building, finish carpentry and general construction. We are very fortunate to have David as a part of our business.
In David's free time, he is involved with his church, family and riding his Harley.
Marlene is a LEED AP BD+C, and focuses attention to sustainable projects. Marlene headed the completion of all D&D submittals and close-out documentation for The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, Virginia's only project attempting both Platinum LEED certification and Living Building Challenge certification. She oversees all LEED projects.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking and gardening. She has served as a Hospice volunteer in the community.

Shannon Shipman manages the day-to-day finances for Dow Construction and D&D. She also manages the portfolio of commercial buildings that are owned by the Dow's. Shannon earned her B.A. from Randolph Macon College and has been with us since 2007, offering our team more than ten years of construction industry experience.
In her free time, Shannon enjoys diving, hiking, adventure travel and her two amazing German Shepherds.

As one of our newest additions to the Dow Construction team, Shelley brings over 8 years of construction and commercial interior design experience with her. Shelley not only plays a large role in helping all our general contracting and projects run smoothly, but her experience has become an asset to our company as she helps our customers navigate through interior design/finishes needed in each project.
When Shelley is not at work, she is often found volunteering throughout the community or camping and traveling with her family.
