If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact, Volunteer Director, at 817-929-7078 or by email at vicki.armstrong@emhd.org You will receive an application to complete and return to Vicki Armstrong. Upon approval of the application, you will receive an orientation training regarding hospital and volunteer policies. You will be expected to receive a TB skin test at the beginning of your training and again three weeks later. You will receive an official name badge with photo ID for Eastland Memorial Hospital and a volunteer vest to wear during the time you are doing volunteer service at the hospital. You may begin volunteering after the training and your first TB skin test. Volunteer meetings are held once monthly on the second Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., and there is an annual Volunteer Rewards Dinner in April to honor volunteers for their service. Also, the volunteers usually plan a summer lake party, and an annual Christmas party.

William (Bill) Evans, M.D. was raised in Proctor, the son of Billy Ray and Doylene Evans. His father and grandfather were peanut farmers and ranchers, with Bill's father later becoming a dairyman when Bill was in grade school. Bill went to school in Comanche where he excelled in agriculture and lettered in football, basketball, and golf. He also competed in summer baseball. Bill graduated from Comanche in 1985 as valedictorian of his class. He then attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in zoology with Suma Cum Laude honors. From there Bill chose to attend medical school at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas which provided him with vast clinical experience at Parkland Hospital. He again excelled academically and became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. Wanting to broaden his medical knowledge at a polished institution in a city still able to provide vast trauma experience, Bill moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Emory University. At the prestigious Emory program he completed a general surgery internship followed by five years of orthopedic training, including completion of a Foot and Ankle fellowship. Dr. Evans is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Evans is also fluent in Spanish.
After completing his fellowship at Emory, he chose to return to Texas where he could serve the people of Stephenville and surrounding areas and raise a family in a small town environment close to family and friends. Dr. Evan'sis married to his loving wife Nanette, who is a talented staff radiologist here at Texas Health Harris Methodist Stephenville Hospital. Their joy is provided by their 2 children, William and Aliana. Dr. Evans outside interests includes most sports, especially golf and hunting. He continues to ranch and maintains the largest registered herd of Black Angus cattle in Texas.
Dr. Evans is in his 11th year in Stephenville with Cross Timbers Orthopaedics. He has found the people of Erath and surrounding counties to be friendly and a joy to care for. Cross Timbers strives to provide up-to-date orthopedic care to these communities.
