Archie Collins - CEO, President

He began his career in the energy sector with Nova Scotia Power in 1990. Since then, he has held increasingly senior leadership roles within NSP and Emera Energy. Archie has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Emera Caribbean, President and Chief Executive Officer of Grand Bahama Power and most recently, Chief Operating Officer of Tampa Electric. Collins is a professional chemical engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from St. Francis Xavier University and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Dalhousie University. He sits on the boards of the Florida Council of 100 and Enterprise Florida. He also serves on the boards of Southeastern Electric Exchange, The Association of Edison Illuminating Companies, Florida Reliability Coordinating Council and Tampa Theatre.

Bruce Marchand - Chief Legal Officer, CSR

After a rewarding career in private practice, Bruce joined Emera as Chief Legal Officer in 2012. His role was expanded in 2014 when he was named Chief Legal & Compliance Officer. In July 2022, Bruce was appointed Chief Risk & Sustainability Officer. In this new role, he maintains accountability for Risk and Compliance and adds executive responsibility for Emera-wide Sustainability. Bruce has been involved in a number of local charitable boards and fundraising initiatives, including the Canadian Cancer Society, Junior Achievement, the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, the United Way, March of Dimes and the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation. Bruce earned a degree in economics from Acadia University and is a graduate of the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. He is a long-standing member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society and the Canadian Bar Association.

Chris Heck

Chris is an accomplished utility sector IT leader with a career spanning more than 35 years. Throughout his career, Chris has led digital transformations and built strong cyber-security programs. He is experienced in many aspects of the utility industry including creating competitive advantage, merger and acquisition planning and integration, lean process improvement, automation, data analytics, product and services sourcing and workforce strategy.

Dan Muldoon

Dan has been with Emera for over three decades. During this time, he has held a number of engineering, supervisory and senior management roles including Executive Vice President, Major Renewable and Alternative Energy; President and Chief Operating Officer of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Emera Inc.; and President and Chief Operating Officer of Emera Utility Services. Dan is a past member of the executive committee for Cigre Canada - International Council on Large Electric Systems. He previously served on both the Transmission and Distribution Councils for the Canadian Electricity Association and is a past Board Member of the Cape Breton Partnership. Dan has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (Dalhousie University).

Dave McGregor - President

Dave McGregor was appointed President, Grand Bahama Power in 2018 and President and Chief Operating Officer, Emera Caribbean Inc. in 2020. Since joining Emera in 2010, Dave has held increasingly senior roles across the business including at Nova Scotia Power and in the Caribbean region. After a series of significant hurricanes impacted Emera's Caribbean operations, Dave's leadership was instrumental in the recovery effort. He also led Barbados Light & Power's early progression toward its current position as a leader in renewable energy and transportation electrification. Before joining Emera, Dave spent 16 years with ATCO Power where he held senior leadership positions in gas-fired power generation facilities in Canada and the UK. Previously, Dave was a field engineer with Rolls Royce and spent time in Africa and Europe, installing, commissioning and troubleshooting electrical equipment for the power generation and mining industries.

Greg Blunden - CFO

Greg Blunden was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Emera Inc. in March 2016. Greg joined Emera in 2000 and has held financial leadership roles at Emera Inc., Emera Maine and Nova Scotia Power. Greg has gained valuable experience and industry insight into all aspects of our business such as corporate finance, business development, utility operations, customer service, renewable energy and regulatory policy. Most recently, he was Emera's Vice-President, Corporate Strategy & Planning and before that held the position of EVP, Customer, Business & Financial Services at Nova Scotia Power. Greg is a graduate of Mount Allison University. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and in 2019 he was awarded the designation of Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA).

Helen Wesley - President

Judy Steele

Judy was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Emera Energy in October 2012. She served as Chief Financial Officer of Emera Inc. from May 2011 to April 2012 and prior to that held the position of Vice President, Finance, Emera Energy. Before joining Emera Energy, Judy worked in a variety of capacities across Emera's business including Investor and External Relations, Strategy Development and Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining Emera in 1999, she worked in the accounting and auditing, and consulting practices of Ernst & Young. Judy is a Chartered Accountant and in 2005 was awarded her profession's highest honour, the designation Fellow Chartered Accountant. Known for her community leadership, Judy has served as Treasurer of the 2011 Canada Winter Games, is a former Director of the Halifax Port Authority and was National Chair of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. In 2003, she received the "CA of the Year Award" in recognition of her outstanding contributions in this regard.

Karen Hutt

Karen Hutt leads Emera's business development and strategy efforts, playing a lead role in the company's next growth phase. Prior to her current role, Karen recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Nova Scotia Power Inc. - a role she held from August 2016 until October 2019. Her passionate leadership as President and CEO of NSPI was felt inside and outside of the organization. Under her guidance, the team heightened its focus on customers, safety and delivering results. Karen joined Emera in 2001 and, through progressively senior roles, has led a range of customer, strategy, business growth and regulatory initiatives in markets as diverse as Canada, New England, New Mexico and Florida. Previously, as Emera's Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions, Karen was part of the team that executed the TECO Energy transaction; a transformational deal that doubled the size of Emera. Prior to that, she served as Emera Energy's Executive Vice President, Commercial, and President, Northeast Wind. In all of her roles, Karen has demonstrated a strong focus on building strategic relationships, achieving results through teamwork, creating growth, and applying innovative thinking to meet customer needs. An active supporter of the local community, Karen currently serves on the Acadia Board of Governors. Karen is a past Chair of the IWK Health Centre in Halifax and also serves Trustee of the IWK Foundation Board. She is Past-Chair of the Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia Board of Directors. Karen holds degrees from Acadia University and Mount Saint Vincent University and has an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Mike Barrett - Chief Legal Officer

Mike joined Emera as General Counsel in 2017 and was appointed Executive Vice President, Legal & General Counsel in July 2022. In this role, Mike holds executive responsibility for Legal, Audit Services, Regulatory Affairs and the Office of the Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining Emera, Mike had a successful career in private practice including as Senior Partner and head of the power and climate change practice groups at Bennett Jones LLP in Toronto. In addition to his Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University, Mike also earned a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, York University. Mike holds the Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D (Certified Director) designation and is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society, the Law Society of Ontario and the Canadian Bar Association.

Peter Gregg

Peter Gregg is President & CEO of Nova Scotia Power, a role he assumed in October 2020. In this role, Peter is focused on planning for Nova Scotia's clean energy future while overseeing the delivery of safe, reliable electricity to customers across the province. Peter is an experienced leader in the Canadian energy sector. Prior to his role at NSP, Peter most recently served as the President & CEO of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) where he oversaw the operation of Ontario's bulk electricity system. He was also President and CEO of Enersource from 2014 to 2016, where he was integral in the merger of four of Ontario's largest local distribution companies to create Alectra Inc., the second largest municipally owned utility in North America. Peter also served as COO at Hydro One Networks, overseeing energy transmission and distribution across Ontario. Throughout his career, Peter has been recognized for his leadership abilities and in 2015 and 2016 he received the Ontario Energy Association's Leader of the Year Award. Peter is a member of the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council, a physical and cyber security collaboration between the electricity sector and the governments of Canada and the United States. He is also a member of the Canadian Electricity Association Board of Directors. Peter received a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at University of Western Ontario and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D (Certified Director) designation.

Rob Bennett

Rob began his career in electrical engineering in 1988 when he first joined Nova Scotia Power. Over the course of his nearly 30-year career, Rob has held senior management and leadership positions across the Emera companies. In 2018, Rob was appointed CEO of Emera Technologies Inc., a new Emera company that will capitalize on business opportunities and develop new technologies related to energy transformation. Prior to this, Rob led Emera's integration with TECO Energy, which Emera acquired in July 2016. His earlier leadership positions at Emera include Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Emera Inc., President and Chief Executive Officer at Nova Scotia Power, and President and Chief Operating Officer of Bangor Hydro Electric Company (now part of Emera Maine). Rob offers his time to many causes throughout his community, particularly those in the fields of healthcare, education and ethics. Rob is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and holds an engineering degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (Dalhousie University).

Roger Blackman

Roger Blackman has held increasingly senior roles at Barbados Light & Power Company and Emera Inc. over his 26 years with the company. He was appointed Managing Director of BL&P in 2016. Previously, he held the position of Senior Director, Business Development at Emera. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Dominica Electricity Services (DOMLEC), St Lucia Electricity Services (LUCELEC) and the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC). He is a member and Past President of the Barbados Association of Professional Engineers. Roger holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus and a Master of Business Administration from Durham University in England.

Ryan O'Hara

Ryan O'Hara joined Emera New Brunswick in June 2021. As General Manager, he oversees day-to-day operations, leads the team and works closely with key stakeholders in the communities where we operate. Ryan has extensive pipeline and natural gas utility experience having held senior positions in construction, operations, and engineering for a major Calgary-based natural gas transmission and distribution utility. Ryan is an accomplished leader with strong technical skills, a proven track record in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, and extensive experience leading significant capital projects. A Professional Engineer (P. Eng), Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. After spending 14 years in Alberta, Ryan and his family are excited to be back in New Brunswick.

Ryan Shell

Ryan Shell is the President of New Mexico Gas, the largest natural gas utility in New Mexico. Ryan joined the company in 2009. As a Certified Public Accountant, he has served as Vice President of Finance, Treasurer and Controller. Prior to joining New Mexico Gas, Ryan held various leadership roles at SEMCO Energy, a natural gas utility with operations in Michigan and Alaska. Previously, he worked as a Certified Public Accountant at BDO Seidman, a national accounting and consulting firm. Ryan received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oakland University and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico. He currently serves on the boards of United Way of Central New Mexico, Albuquerque Economic Development, Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, Kirtland Partnership Committee and Western Energy Institute.
