Ben Mccarthy

Ben McCarthy has an enviable 30+ year track record in property and construction. From site identification through approvals, construction and sales, Ben has a wealth of experience in all sectors of the property markets. Ben spent 18 years with construction and development giant Multiplex built its property development business in Queensland from inception to a $1 billion workload. Ben's formative years were spent in the construction arena completing high quality building projects in Queensland, NSW and ACT within the time and budget conscious construction contracting arena. As national Deputy Managing Director and regional head of the Property Development division, Ben was integral in guiding the transformation of Multiplex in Queensland from a pure "limited-risk" construction management company to the State's leading private construction company with a successful and ever-growing property development business. An accomplished manager, Ben developed the team, systems, industry and government relationships and market image for Multiplex in Queensland. Ben specialised in project procurement, business development, sales and marketing, financial analysis and negotiating project funding arrangements. He was instrumental in the development and launch of Multiplex's national residential brand, Multiplex Living. As a Director of Multiplex Facilities Management, Ben had national responsibility for the performance of the property and facilities management division. Ben's role prior to working full time with EkkoPoint Properties was as Chief Executive Officer of listed property group, Trinity Ltd, driving it from its IPO in late 2004 to the end of 2008. In this capacity, he assessed the performance of all business units from property operations through funds management and development; capital management through accounting and audit; and investor relations through public relations and HR. Ben left Trinity in 2008 to concentrate on his private development activities through EkkoPoint Properties. EkkoPoint Properties was formed in late 2004 for Ben's personal property development investments. Ben is the sole shareholder and director and has final decision making capacity on all key project and business decisions.

Marcella Walker

Marcella is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years' experience in the financial services and property industry. Marcella joined EkkoPoint Properties in 2012 and is responsible for overseeing the financial, treasury and compliance activities of the group. Marcella commenced her career as a taxation consultant with Arthur Andersen and has subsequently held senior finance roles at Bankers Trust and Perpetual. At Bankers Trust Marcella was responsible for all statutory, compliance, financial and management reporting obligations for its real estate funds management business including both listed and unlisted property funds. At Perpetual, Marcella had national responsibility for developing and managing its service offering to property syndicators and funds management clients. Marcella has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance & Investment from FinSIA, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
