IMMSP

Since May 1986 IMMSP (as the Special Bureau of Mathematical Machines and Systems of the Institute of Cybernetics) has been responsible for the development and improvement of the National Decision Support and Predicting System on Radioactive Contamination of Surface Water in Ukraine after the Chernobyl Accident. The results of the mathematical modelling were used for the decision making to decrease the radionuclide release from the water bodies in the Chernobyl zone and from the Kiev Reservoir as also for the prediction of radionuclide concentrations in Dnieper river, crossed whole Ukrainian territory, These results were practically used by the Ministry on Chernobyl Problems, Ministry of Water Management, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Ministry of Public Health.
