EQUITY & ADVISORY - Key Persons
Alan is an Associate Director of Equity & Advisory and has over 20 years' experience assisting companies and government business enterprises to maximise value. Prior to joining Equity & Advisory, Alan held positions with Arthur Andersen, a predecessor firm of EY, SA Water Corporation and National Australia Bank. Alan also has Board experience with a small not-for-profit organisation. Alan has a unique blend of financial management, business development and strategic planning skills, across the finance, water and defence industries.
Dino Talavanic is a Director of Equity & Advisory joining the firm in 2007. Dino specialises in undertaking mergers and acquisitions, sales and divestments, business valuations, due diligence investigations, corporate restructures, debt & equity procurement and business planning.
Throughout his career Dino was a member of deal teams of various client and in-house acquisitions. Dino has supported various investees with post-acquisition integration and growth holding senior financial and commercial roles which has enabled him to gain experience in treasury management, financial modelling, budgeting, cash flow management, accounting and business systems review and contract management.
Prior to joining Equity & Advisory, Dino worked for a major Adelaide based accounting and business advisory firm, now part of Deloitte, working in their Corporate Finance and Business Services lines for over 5 years.
Don Manifold is the Joint Managing Director of Equity & Advisory and specialises in providing commercial advice in relation to mergers and acquisitions, divestments and valuations.
Prior to joining Equity & Advisory, Don was the Managing Partner of EY in South Australian and Northern Territory for four years. Don also ran EY's Transaction Advisory division in South Australia and has over twenty five years' experience including over twenty years in corporate finance. Don has advised on over 40 completed acquisitions, divestments, capital raising and IPOs with a combined value in excess of $2 billion and has produced valuation and independent expert's reports for businesses with a combined value in excess of $25 billion. Don has advised on a number of high profile transactions including the sale of S. Kidman & Co.
Lawrence Taverna is a Senior Analyst at Equity & Advisory specialising in mergers, acquisitions, divestments, strategic reviews, and debt advisory. Prior to joining Equity & Advisory, Lawrence worked in Sydney in the Emerging Corporates division of Westpac, where he played a key role in the deal team for several complex, mid-market transactions for ASX listed, and large private companies across Healthcare, Property, Consumer Goods, Industrials, & Professional Services. Lawrence also has experience working in operational, marketing, and strategic roles in a leading family-owned manufacturing business.

Mark is the Joint Managing Director of Equity & Advisory and specialises in providing commercial advice in relation to mergers and acquisitions, divestments, infrastructure projects and corporate restructures. Mark is also experienced in performing valuations for both public and private companies for purposes of purchase, sale and independent expert reports to shareholders.
Nathan Salapatas is a Senior Analyst at Equity & Advisory and has experience in providing commercial and business outcomes to his clients, including Corporate Advisory services to small and large companies.
Nathan has a diversified background working across professional services, investment management and banking.
Prior to joining Equity & Advisory, Nathan worked for KPMG Australia, where he provided strategic advice and assistance to organisations for the purpose of obtaining State and Federal funding, including grant, incentive and other trade and investment benefits.
Nathan also held the position of Equity Advisor at an Adelaide-based private client investment management firm, where his main responsibilities were the construction, management and asset allocation of listed debt and equity securities, supported by fundamental research and analysis.
Stephen leads our team of professionals and has considerable experience in providing commercial, financial and strategic advice to the public and private sectors. Stephen is currently an active member on public and private sector boards and specialises in strategic financial consulting.
Prior to the founding of Equity & Advisory, Stephen was the Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen, South Australia and was responsible for overseeing the development of that international firm's practice in South Australia for 8 years.
William Leung is a Manager of Equity & Advisory and has experience in providing commercial and financial analysis and undertaking mergers and acquisitions, financial modelling and review, due diligence investigation, economics and policy analysis and industry and economics research.
Prior to joining Equity & Advisory, William worked as an economist for the Department of Primary Industries and Regions. William also held corporate analyst positions with Codan and FYFE. William has a diversified background working across agricultural, resources and engineering industries.
