Athra Afram is the Director of Finance. Athra holds Master's Degree in Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Antwerp. She started her career as an external auditor at KPMG. Afterwards she worked for Moore Belgium as Accountancy Compliance Manager for 10 years. She joined Essensiun in January 2024 as Director of Finance.>>
Benny Van Calster is the Head of Marketing of Essensium. Benny holds an executive MBA at the AMS (Antwerp Management School). He started his career as an European Marketing Director at intel's xircom division and went on to become Managing Partner at Minds&More building a network of 100+ professionals in Sales & Marketing offering interim management, project management, etc. Since 2022 he joined Essensium as the Head of Marketing.
Boris Berghmans has been appointed as the VP Sales EPS at Essensium, a leader in Positioning and Safety solutions for the logistics and warehousing industry. Previously Boris held various sales leadership positions in the Benelux and France at Loadhog, a UK-based designer and manufacturer of reusable packaging products, part of the GLIDE Group.
Filip Buerms is the CEO and shareholder of Essensium. Filip, who studied Industrial Engineering, started his career in the high-tech distribution world. Before he joined Essensium, he held key functions at several high-tech players. He was amongst others European Sales Director at Intel and VP at Option, a leading wireless modules manufacturer.
Huub Tubbax is the Head of Product at Essensium. He holds an MSc and PhD in Electrical Engineering, obtained at the University of Leuven and IMEC Leuven. Huub joined Essensium in 2006, where he has been driving the EPS RTLS development from inception to customer implementations.
Jan Olbrechts is the Head of R&D of Essensium. Jan holds a Master in Electronic Engineering from the University of Louvain. He started his career as a Senior ASIC Architect at EASICS before becoming an Embedded Software Consultant at MIND and joining Essensium, first as a RTLS Software Architect and since 2016 as the Essensium R&D Manager.
Our shareholder Johan Danneels obtained his PhD with the development of an integrated solid state switch. He can look back at a rich career spanning 25 years in various functions in the telecom industry at different multinationals. He was CEO of Alcatel Microelectronics preparing the company for a sale to STMicroelectronics where he was appointed VP telecom. Johan co-founded Essensium in 2005 and has been a shareholder ever since.

Jon Wickett has spent 26 years as an Material Handling Equipment (MHE) supplier to the Logistics/Warehousing Industry. Much of this time was spent working with large, global & national customers and major retailers with varying distribution operations. He has a wide range of experience and was also a product manager for AGVs.

Karien Bergmans is our Sales Director for Belux and International for Essensium. She has a Master's Degree in Business Administration. In her last experience with Loadhog she was driven by sustainability to make logistical sites more green and make the change to reusable transit packaging. Now she has taken on the mission to make Belgium a reference in Health and Safety in Logistics.>>

Luc Zabouri has held the position of Business Development Manager first at Toyota Material Handling, a world leader in the field of logistics, and then at Scaleway, a leading European hi-tech company providing Cloud services. Before that, he started his career as a salesman and then as an entrepreneur in sustainable development.
