EVERYDAY ENERGY - Key Persons
Andrew Carr is a Development Associate and Assistant Project Manager at Everyday Energy.
Andrew holds Bachelor's Degrees in Finance and Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, he received training from the Midwest Renewable Energy Association as well as the California Center for Sustainable Energy.
Andrew supports projects from preliminary phases all the way to project completion including such responsibilities as project system sizing, management of rebates, utility interconnection and monitoring.
Andrew remains passionately committed to driving the deployment of clean energy technologies.
Andy works to tailor Everyday Energy's offerings to ensure our solar projects fit appropriately into affordable housing financing and regulatory structures. He also works on public policy efforts to bring the benefits of clean renewable energy to multifamily affordable housing and the nearly half-million low-income households who live there. As Everyday Energy's resident "housing guy", Andy ensures that the needs and goals of affordable housing owners, sponsors and residents are reflected across Everyday Energy's offerings to maximize the value proposition to our customers.
Andy has spent his career in housing and community development, including stints at the San Francisco City Planning Department, the Marin City Community Development Corporation and a dozen years as a project manager at EAH Housing. As manager of EAH's solar efforts, he was among the original users of the path-breaking Multifamily Affordably Solar Homes program and helped forge implementation practices that have since spread industry-wide. Andy earned his bachelor's degree from Amherst College and a Masters of Public Policy and Urban Planning from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government.
As a co-founder of Everyday Energy, Chris runs the day-to-day operations of the company. Through Chris' leadership, Everyday Energy has developed the standards for affordable housing and virtual net metering interconnections with San Diego Gas and Electric and Pacific Gas and Electric. Chris has created the gold standard of solar interconnection in San Diego and has developed a best in class group of solar installers.
Chris started his career on Capitol Hill in Washington DC working for Congressman Chris Cox and Martin Hoke. Chris then transitioned to Callaway Golf where he managed Callaway's top national accounts and was responsible for more than $45 million in annual sales. Chris also spearheaded a direct sales relationship with amazon.com that yielded $8 Million in sales in its first year.Chris earned his Bachelors Degree in political Science from University of California Santa Barbara.
He is an avid surfer and swimmer and would live in the water if he could.

Christian serves as the point-person for Everyday Energy's development partners and clients and helps drive the development of each solar project from the start through to successful Completion.
Since 2008, Christian has been helping Commercial, Industrial and Multi-family property owners
(For-Profit and Non-Profit) navigate the often-complex process of evaluating and determining the most beneficial solar energy solutions. His experience spans all aspects of developing a solar energy project, including conducting project feasibility, analyzing utility rate tariffs, guiding system design and structuring the right financing solution - all with the clients' needs and wishes in mind.
In the past 10 years, Christian has assisted dozens of business and property owners with their unique solar needs at such locations as a Chevrolet Dealership, an 800-space RV Resort, several mobile home communities, the first two solar installations at UC San Diego, and solar atop five city facilities for the City of Escondido, among many others.
Christian's approach is to simplify the complex and make the entire process of going solar easier and more enjoyable.
Doug holds both a B (General Building Contractor) and C-46 (Solar) California State Contractors License and is Everyday Energy's Responsible Managing Employee. For the last 8 years, Doug has managed all aspects of Everyday Energy's installations of solar PV projects on multifamily affordable housing. During this time, he helped pioneer line side virtual net meter interconnections and sets the industry standards with regard to safety, workmanship and customer care. Prior to working for Everyday Energy, Doug owned his own small business building custom homes. Doug is not happy just to get something done. He insists on doing it the right way and treating people well. Before joining Everyday Energy in 2018, Jeff worked at Tesla as a Project Development Manager where he helped sell over 25MWs of PV solar during his 4 years with the company. Jeff brings a considerable amount of knowledge about the Californian energy market to the team. Jeff holds a bachelor's degree in International Business and minor in Statistics from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
If Jeff isn't behind his desk crunching numbers, he is out camping, backpacking, brewing beer or coaching youth soccer.

Most recently, Jesse spent 4 years at SolarCity-Tesla as the Vice President of Project Development where he managed a team of 400 developers, underwriters, project managers and engineers. Jesse served for 3 years as the executive vice president of market development and finance at M+W, a global EPC and development company, where he structured international equity and debt funds with governments and institutional investors. Prior to that he was director of development and fund management for an investment fund sponsored by Kyocera. Jesse began his career in renewables and clean technologies as an entrepreneur and developer in California. Over the last decade Jesse has initiated and completed over 500 megawatts of renewable energy generation, microgrid, storage and sustainability projects.
Joe is responsible for the production of accurate and timely financial statements at Everyday Energy. He is also an Accounting Professor at the University of California San Diego, Rady School of Business.
Prior to Everyday Energy, he was a financial professional for approximately 25 years in high-growth public Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies. He served in a broad range of roles in Accounting and Finance including Corporate Controller, Finance Director and head of Financial Planning & Analysis. Joe holds an MBA in Finance from San Diego State University and a BS Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University.
Joe enjoys spending time with his wife and twin daughters as well as running and golf.
As a co-founder and chair of Everyday Energy, Kyra acts as General Counsel and manages Human Resources on a daily basis. Kyra has helped lead Everyday Energy's Workforce Development Program. Kyra is passionate about renewable energy and the prospects of developing sustainable and green jobs. Kyra has worked as a telecommunication regulatory attorney most of her career. She has negotiated interconnection contracts with the largest telecommunications companies in the nation. She has also worked for a major entertainment company as in house counsel. Kyra has balanced a successful career with being the mother of four boys.
She earned her Bachelors Degree in Speech Communication from California State University Northridge and her Juris Doctorate from UCLA School of Law. Kyra is a member of the state Bar of California. She is also active in the local Parent Teachers Association and has lead philanthropic efforts on behalf of the Rady's Childrens Hospital in San Diego.
Kyra is a yogi and loves to read and travel.
Michael Muñoz has over a decade of experience working in the energy industry. He worked in various sectors including biofuels, energy efficiency, and solar. Before working at Everyday Energy he was an Affordable Housing Analyst at SolarCity coordinating with 11 housing developers to complete 70+ solar projects. A Venice Beach native, he enjoys camping, hiking, skateboarding, surfing and especially snowboarding. He holds a BA in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz and an MBA in Sustainable Business from SF State University.
Scott has dedicated much of his professional career advocating for responsible renewable energy practices and policies and co-founded California's leading renewable energy company, Everyday Energy, focused on providing services to multifamily affordable housing and Disadvantaged Communities. Mr. Sarem has led the effort to deliver the benefits of solar through virtual net metering to over 150 separate properties benefitting over 30,000 low income residents. Additionally, Scott has been recognized by President Obama and his administration as an expert in delivering renewable energy to low and moderate income communities and has been invited to the White House on four separate occasions to present various case studies on the subject. Mr. Sarem has led the effort to create sensible regulatory structure around solar rebate programs, including the MASH Program at the California Public Utilities Commission which resulted in rules that helped to establish the multifamily affordable housing market as viable for solar and has helped to bridge the green divide and solve the split incentive problem. In fact, Mr. Sarem originated the idea of providing a direct tenant benefit through virtual net metering and limits on utility allowance adjustments to ensure tenants receive such direct economic benefits. All of this experience culminated to the crowning achievement of creating a $1 Billion Solar Program in California. Mr. Sarem spearheaded the effort to originate and then champion Assembly Bill 693 (Eggman) that utilized Everyday Energy's extensive experience and thought leadership to create the largest solar rebate program in history designed to benefit low income residents that reside in multifamily affordable housing (The Solar On Multifamily Affordable Housing "SOMAH" Program).
Scott's career spans over 20 years. Scott has extensive experience in leading companies from the start up stage through growth and eventual acquisition. He started his career in the tax department of Deloitte and Touche. Scott has held key leadership positions in leading national telecommunications companies and was responsible for developing a regulatory strategy that ultimately helped drive the operations. Scott's understanding of the nexus between the legal and regulatory issues in connection with operating the business helped to position Mpower Communications for a successful Initial Public Offering as well as additional debt and equity placements. Scott helped to position Mpower for an acquisition and then provided consulting and management services for telecommunications investments made by WMX Capital.
Scott earned his Bachelors degree in Political Science from University of California Riverside and his Juris Doctorate from UCLA School of Law. Scott coaches youth sports and is an avid snow skier and surfer.
