Wayne Trotter is President of Export Financial Services (EFS) - a credit risk insurance brokerage licensed in 1996. EFS designs and implements payment risk mitigation strategies on behalf of its clients which are underwritten by insurers such as AIG, Atradius, Coface, Euler Hermes, FCIA, QBE and Zurich. EFS is the City/State Partner of the Export Import Bank of the United States for the State of South Carolina. EFS also packages financial transactions for exporters and foreign buyers seeking trade finance assistance.
Wayne has held numerous international positions with banks in New York and Chicago. Prior to his banking career, Wayne lived abroad in 5 countries where he worked as a Foreign Service Reserve Officer with the United States Department of State. He has held numerous Diplomatic positions in Africa, the Far East, and South America where, among other duties, he provided assistance in the resolution of commercial disputes between American companies and foreign governments. Wayne is a former Visiting Research Professor at the University of South Carolina and a former Adjunct Professor at Clemson University. He is author of articles on free trade and has debated NAFTA and GATT on public television.
