Jonathan C. Smale

Jonathan C. Smale is a partner at Field Jerger. His practice emphasizes commercial and bankruptcy litigation as well as judgment enforcement. He has been with Field Jerger LLP since 1998 and worked his way through school as a paralegal and law clerk for the firm while earning his undergraduate and law degrees. Jonathan's litigation experience includes all manner of commercial disputes, debtor/creditor matters and issues involving insurance, environmental, fraudulent transfer, and bankruptcy laws. Education: J.D., cum laude, Northwestern School of Law, Lewis & Clark College, 2008 B.S., Portland State University, 2004 Graduated from The Hill School in Pottstown, PA in 1996 and played infield on three State Championship baseball teams.

Joseph A. Field

Joe Field is an active litigation and bankruptcy attorney who specializes in complex, multi-party cases before bankruptcy, state and federal courts. His trial experience includes a broad range of commercial, real estate and financial fraud cases. Joe represents plaintiffs and defendants, creditors and debtors. Past clients include public and private corporations, insurance companies, municipalities and individuals with serious litigation issues. Joe is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington. He founded Field & Associates, the predecessor to Field Jerger, in 1994. Joe is a frequent author and regular speaker on bankruptcy, litigation and collection topics.

R. Scott Jerger

Scott Jerger is of counsel at Field Jerger LLP. Scott joined Field Jerger in 2003 after receiving an LL.M in environmental and natural resources law. Prior to that, Scott was an environmental and regulatory attorney for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the City of El Paso, Texas. Scott's practice focuses on environmental and commercial litigation. Scott is licensed to practice in Oregon, Washington, and Texas and has litigated cases in state and federal court in all three of these states as well as many others, and in multiple federal appellate courts. His clients include multi-national corporations, closely held companies, partnerships, and individuals. Scott taught environmental litigation for ten years as an adjunct professor at Lewis & Clark Law School. He is also a frequent author and regular speaker on environmental topics. Scott Jerger has practiced environmental law for over 25 years and currently practices in the following areas: Scott Jerger's practice focuses on environmental law, construction law and related real property disputes. Scott is an active litigator and his trial experience includes litigating complex environmental cases in federal and state court. Scott represents environmental clients across the United States.
