Alec grew up with parents that both excelled in the creative field, and they encouraged him to pursue his natural creative abilities. He took what he learned and applied it in school where he developed a passion for physical model making, digital renderings and graphic design. Alec truly enjoys the world of architecture and how he can use his creativity to problem solve and represent a design through a graphical and diagrammatical approach. When Alec is out of the office, he enjoys time with his wife and family, grinding on his golf game, watching a great movie, and working on improving his digital rendering and graphic design skills.

Antonio has over ten years of design experience working on a variety of project types throughout the southwest. As the Director of Design Visualization, Bruce's greatest strength lies in his ability to quickly put concept to paper using the numerous graphic and design tools he has on hand (napkin sketcher par excellence!). His career began early in life, while working for his father's construction company. Daniel has over 25 years of architectural experience and lends his talents to FBT's commercial, higher education and research facility projects. Darleen has over 15 years of design, project management and construction administration experience with a variety of project types, partnering primarily with small communities throughout New Mexico. Her path to architecture is due to Brother Andrew, who was so concerned by the fact she was his worst typing student that he told Brother Abel if he didn't let her into his drafting class she was doomed to work as a convenience store clerk. In her free time, Darleen enjoys working and wading in her backyard pond, spending time with her dog along the Bosque or working outside in her garden.

David is passionate about community and urban design. As the son of a county judge his childhood was spent going door-to-door with his dad during campaign-times giving him a lifelong interest in building community.
David practiced architecture and urban design in Washington D.C and Houston, TX before accepting a teaching position at Texas Tech University, where he eventually became the Director of Urban Tech, the College of Architecture's downtown studio. Urban Tech engages with the City of Lubbock to envision a transformed and viable downtown Lubbock. David has continued to practice while teaching, working on projects including the Buddy Holly Center, the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts and the High Cotton facilities for the homeless. David joined FBT Architects in 2013 to continue his contributions and commitment to urban design in a greater context.

Drew brings over ten years of unique design experience to FBT from his background with the Department of Defense and National Parks Service, as well as multi-family housing and commercial lighting design experience. Originally from southwest Colorado, Drew developed his passion for architecture building custom homes with his father. This grew into a love for hand drafting and ultimately the decision to pursue licensure. Drew has served on the board for AIA New Mexico as the director for the Young Architects Forum for four years and continues to encourage newly-licensed architects and emerging professionals to engage with the larger design community.

Inspired by ecologically resilient landscapes that respond to community context, Felipe brings a wealth of experience to his role as a Landscape Designer for Groundwork Studio. Growing up between the two cities of Missoula, Montana and Seattle, Washington, he developed a deep appreciation for the different ways of living within the rural to urban gradient. Both places spurred a profound relationship with the environment which has shaped him in his professional life. Before delving into the world of landscape architecture, Felipe worked as a small-scale fruit and veggie farmer in the Snoqualmie River Valley and then as a Parks Maintenance worker with King County's Department of Natural Resources and Parks. Felipe enjoys designing for public spaces, especially those that foster community and allow people to develop a deeper connection to a place. In his free time, he enjoys being outside and getting his hands in the soil while growing fruits, veggies and mushrooms and aspires to give back to the community through volunteer trail construction work.

Garret has a background in construction and fabrication and is fascinated by the intricacy of architectural assemblies used to shape the built environment. His experience from the Fabrication Lab while at the University of New Mexico has allowed him to develop a broad range of skills including woodworking, digital modeling, digital fabrication and scale model building. Garret's creativity is driven by his attention to detail within his work. He approaches every design problem like an opportunity to think outside the box. When Garret isn't in the office, he's probably at a golf course working on his game or spending quality time with his family.

Glenn believes excellence in architecture comes from an integrated design approach, with wholistic integration of the aesthetic, technological, social and cultural values of the designer, client, user and constructor. Glenn has been engaged in this architectural pursuit since 1970, first as a student, then as a designer in the housing industry, and for the past 38 years as a professor of Architecture at Texas Tech University. He brings his expertise in the energy-responsive design, digital visualization, building science and technology, building information modeling (BIM) and integrated design to every project. He is excited about this new chapter as a member of FBT's Lubbock team.

Holly is involved in all phases of healthcare design, from programming to construction administration. She enjoys every opportunity to take the lead on finish selections for projects and has a knack for assembling technical details, space planning, building code reviews and production management. Holly is involved with Albuquerque's Downtown Neighborhoods Association Board where she works to develop and preserve Albuquerque's historic downtown residential areas and developing community. She is currently raising three kids while restoring a historic bungalow from 1909.

With expertise in tools like Grasshopper, Ian focuses on balancing complexity, aesthetics and occupant well-being. His experience is rooted in commercial architecture, but he's always excited to explore new project types. Outside the office, Ian enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time outdoors with his fiancé-often revisiting the trails, parks and monuments that inspired his early interest in design.

As a talented architectural intern, Jade provides great support on FBT's K-12 Education and Commercial Studio projects. She grew up surrounded by artists and architects in Jemez Springs, NM, which inspired her to pursue art and design from an early age. Jade's artistic eye is evident in her vibrant renderings and graphics that bring a project to life. Jade played an active role in UNM's AIAS chapter and the Architecture Honor Society, Tau Sigma Delta during her time in school.

Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Jason is thrilled to be back in his hometown, contributing to the design and development of schools he once attended. He recently completed his Master of Architecture degree with a thesis entitled The Sustainable Stadium, Training Facility and Retail Masterplan, which comprised a 90-acre master plan featuring a 12,000-seat stadium and an expansive 900,000 sf of facility space, all driven by a commitment to sustainability. As an avid sports fan, he takes great pride in supporting the local sports teams, particularly admiring the Colorado Rockies and their home stadium, the Coors Field. With a personal goal of visiting all 30 MLB stadiums, Jason's passion for sports knows no bounds.

Jeremy's interest in architecture began when he was growing up in Southeastern Colorado and spent summers working with contractors. At FBT he has worked extensively on schools, commercial and tenant improvement projects for over 15 years and has been involved in all phases of the design process, from programming through construction administration. He has an in-depth understanding of how important good design is for successful learning in 21st century educational environments and is passionate about providing it. Constantly testing himself, his enthusiasm and dedication contribute to his continued success.

Jing grew up with her grandparents on a farm in Hainan Island, China surrounded by nature and agriculture. As the new Director of Hospitality and Interior Design for FBT Architects, John Nelson brings more than three decades of experience and a passion for creating elevated environments that inspire. Throughout his career, he has designed spaces from the inside out with a focus on managing volumes, adjacencies, materials, lighting and operational overlay that combine to enhance the overall user experience. He embraces every challenging project that comes his way, whether it be a renovation or new construction and is particularly passionate about Hospitality- with growing interest in adjacent fields like Luxury Multi-Family and Luxury Senior Living. With a degree in Environmental Design, John believes sustainability should have a more prominent role and works to champion more environmentally responsible design solutions.
Having lived in seven cities before the age of 13, John's upbringing in a military family fueled his desire to travel and experience the world. When he's not home in Dallas, John and his wife enjoy traveling whenever possible. With a discerning palate for wine and bourbon, an enthusiasm for fine dining and a love for racing, John brings both sophistication and spirited curiosity to FBT's team of managing principals.

He works primarily on FBT's higher education projects with architectural interests focused on adaptive reuse and integrating new, innovative technology and techniques into both new and existing buildings. Additionally, Justin is dedicated to helping future generations of architects succeed. As a dedicated member of FBT's Dallas team, Kourtney plays a pivotal role coordinating a diverse range of projects, from educational to residential. Growing up in Irving, Texas as a proud Navajo woman, she developed a passion for community outreach and advocating for minority women in architecture. Kourtney's love of design blossomed in her childhood where she spent her free time sketching, building and imagining. Designing has always been her safe space, and this ultimately drove her to pursue a career in architecture. In her free time, Kourtney enjoys spending time with her son, going to church with her family and volunteering with the Intertribal Community Council of Texas.
