Brittany M. Roethemeier

Brittany M. Roethemeier, J.D., joined Fayette Alliance as Executive Director in March 2019 after practicing real estate law at McBrayer PLLC since 2011, where she was named a "Super Lawyer-Rising Star in Real Estate" in 2017, 2018 and 2019. A passion for her community and a desire to ensure that Lexington continues to be an extraordinary place to live, work and play for all its community members brought her to Fayette Alliance, where she is committed to its vital mission to sustainably and equitably grow our city and promote our farms. She has served as a volunteer with numerous non-profit organizations, including on the Board of Directors of Step by Step, Transylvania University Young Alumni Council, Friends of the Bluegrass Land Conservancy, Leadership Lexington Alumni Association and Youth Program Steering Committees, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and is a graduate of the Leadership Lexington Class of 2014-15. Originally from Union, Kentucky, Brittany is a graduate of Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky College of Law, and lives in Lexington with her husband Dean and rescue dog Henry.

Jared Sexton is a native of Hardyville, Kentucky - a small community in Hart County. After graduating high school, Jared moved to Lexington to attend the University of Kentucky and while there, fell in love with Lexington. Since graduating college in 2018, Jared has worked in both the political and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, he worked for the Kentucky 4-H Foundation, based in Lexington, as their Major Gifts Officer. Jared lives in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky with his wife, Abby, and their Bernedoodle, Newton. In his free time, Jared enjoys traveling with his wife, spending time with family and friends, and playing guitar. Jared's favorite thing about Lexington is its welcoming culture and unique blend of urban and rural environments.

Michelle Luz grew up in Dallas, TX, and at the end of 2010, she moved and started her career in Public Relations in New York City. After 5 years in the Big Apple, she moved to Lexington, KY, in 2015. Michelle has a background working in Public Relations, Marketing and Sales specializing in Lifestyle, Beauty and Gift. With a desire to become more involved and connected within her community, she decided to switch gears and pursue this opportunity with Fayette Alliance as their Administrative Coordinator. She volunteers her time for local charities in Lexington including The Nest. Michelle and her husband, Ben, live in Lexington and have two beautiful children, Editha + Sonny, and a cat, Mickey.

Natalie Appel

Natalie Appel is a Lexington native and a graduate of Centre College with a B.A. in History and International Studies. She kicked off her career in Undergraduate Admissions Counseling at Georgetown College then moved on to become the Program Manager at Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass where she provided financial literacy and entrepreneurship-based programming for youth, including directing the Leadership Lexington Youth Program. Natalie serves on the Board of Directors for Ampersand Sexual Violence Resource Center and is a member of the Leadership Lexington class of 2022. In her free time, Natalie likes to walk/run with her rescue German Shepherd, Snickers, and enjoys Downtown Lexington living.
