Andrew McDowell

Andrew McDowell joined First Reliance Bank in 2018 and continues to build the First Reliance Bank Team as the Senior Vice President and Regional Executive for North Carolina. His career in banking began with one of the largest banks in the region. McDowell brings more than 35 years of banking experience to First Reliance Bank, most of which has been in leadership roles in the Winston-Salem area. Education McDowell graduated from Syracuse University with a Business Administration degree. McDowell has served Home Moravian Church as a trustee and board chair. He has also held positions as a cabinet member of the United Way of Forsyth County and board member of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Industrial Development Corporation.

Ben Brazell

Ben Brazell, was named Executive Vice President, Retail Banking in March 2022. His primary responsibilities are to oversee retail banking, the bank's efficiency initiatives and projects. He has direct leadership of Retail Banking, Deposit Operations and Loan Operations. Brazell joined First Reliance in August of 2007 where he had primary responsibilities for growing the bank's market share and locations within the state of South Carolina, while leading sales teams throughout the state and developing strategic growth strategies. Mr. Brazell has extensive years of banking experience, during which he has held numerous sales management and executive leadership positions coupled with experience in process management. Before assuming leadership of First Reliance Bank in South Carolina, Brazell was Senior Vice President, Market President of a large national bank in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, Brazell provided leadership and strategic direction to all business lines and bank activities in the Memphis market. Education Mr. Brazell graduated from the University of South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Mr. Brazell has also received various professional certifications. Brenton Mackie

Brenton Mackie brings over 31 years of experience in the banking industry. As the Regional Executive Midlands, South Carolina, Mackie is responsible for the strategic market expansion of First Reliance Bank's footprint in the Midlands Region, Lexington market, as well as overseeing sales management and community development throughout. He most recently served as the Regional President and Senior Vice President for previous financial institution where he managed a regional staff and supported the commercial, consumer, mortgage and wealth management lines of business. Brook Moore - SEVP

Mr. Moore was named Senior Executive Vice-President and Chief Credit Officer in January 2021. Prior to that he joined the bank in July 2020 as Senior Vice President and Senior Credit Administrator. He is responsible for the management and oversight of the bank's Credit Administration function, ensuring appropriate credit risk for the risk profile as established in credit policies. He is responsible for ensuring the underwriting and credit approval processes while supporting the bank's service culture. Moore is also responsible for coordination with regulatory agencies, loan review firms, CPA's, etc. during examinations and audits. He provides direct supervision and accountability for Credit Administration, Special Assets and Loss Mitigation & Recovery. Dr. Lusk was one of the original organizers of First Reliance Bank and has served as a Director of First Reliance Bank since August 1999 and as Chairman of the Audit Committee. He is the third board Chairman over the banks twenty-one year history. Dr. Lusk is employed by McLeod Physician's Associates since February 1996. Dr. Lusk became a partner of Adams, O'Dell, Davidson, & Lusk OB/GYN PC from July 1993 until February 1996. He was appointed to the position of Chief Medical Officer for both McLeod Health and the McLeod Healthcare Network (CIN) in November 2018, where he supervises administrative staff of Medical Services as well as hospital personnel under the direction of departmental managers with all seven of the McLeod Health hospitals. He is involved in the Quality Operations and Credentials committees for McLeod Regional Medical Center (MRMC), and has served as Chair of the Medial Staff Executive Committee. Chuck Stuart was named President of First Reliance Mortgage in December 2020. The Honorable Senator Mike Reichenbach was elected as South Carolina State Senator in 2022. Rick Saunders has worked in finance and banking as his career of choice from an early age. From 1983 through 1997, Mr. Saunders was Senior Vice President and City Executive of Florence for Pee Dee State Bank, where he was also a member of the Senior Loan Committee and Board of Directors. During this time, his responsibilities included corporate banking, business development, and policy making. From 1997 to 1998, he served as Senior Market Executive with Centura Bank after its merger with Pee Dee State Bank. In 1998, he began organizing First Reliance Bank and presently serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Education Mr. Saunders graduated from the South Carolina Bankers School, a cooperative program with the College of Business Administration of the University of South Carolina in 1986. Two years later, he graduated from the Southeastern School of Agriculture Lending, a cooperative program with the College of Agricultural Science of Clemson University. Mr. Rick Saunders began his banking profession in 1983 and progressively worked in various capacities. In recognition of his success and dedication, he was made a Vice President and Director of Pee Dee State Bank in 1990, serving in this capacity until March 1998. When Pee Dee State Bank merged with Centura Bank, Mr. Saunders was made the Senior Market Officer of Centura Bank in Florence, South Carolina, a position he retained until November of 1998.
