Andrew McDowell joined First Reliance Bank in 2018 and continues to build the First Reliance Bank Team as the Senior Vice President and Regional Executive for North Carolina. Developing new banking relationships with business owners as well as maintaining existing ones. Andy continues to grow the bank and promote the bank's brand throughout the North Carolina Market.
His career in banking began with one of the largest banks in the region. McDowell brings more than 35 years of banking experience to First Reliance Bank, most of which has been in leadership roles in the Winston-Salem area.

McDowell graduated from Syracuse University with a Business Administration degree.

Ben Brazell, was named Executive Vice President, Retail Banking in March 2022. His primary responsibilities are to oversee retail banking, the bank's efficiency initiatives and projects. He has direct leadership of Retail Banking, Deposit Operations and Loan Operations. Brazell joined First Reliance in August of 2007 where he had primary responsibilities for growing the bank's market share and locations within the state of South Carolina, while leading sales teams throughout the state and developing strategic growth strategies.
Mr. Brazell has extensive years of banking experience, during which he has held numerous sales management and executive leadership positions coupled with experience in process management. Before assuming leadership of First Reliance Bank in South Carolina, Brazell was Senior Vice President, Market President of a large national bank in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, Brazell provided leadership and strategic direction to all business lines and bank activities in the Memphis market.

Mr. Brazell graduated from the University of South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Mr. Brazell has also received various professional certifications. Mr. Brazell is a graduate of the Leadership Development Institute and The South Carolina Banker's School.

Blake Dressler joined First Reliance Bank in January 2021 as Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Lender. He was promoted to Market President of the Charleston Market, S.C., in Januray 2022. Dressler brings over 14 years of experiece in the banking industry.

Brenton Mackie brings over 31 years of experience in the banking industry. As the Regional Executive Midlands, South Carolina, Mackie is responsible for the strategic market expansion of First Reliance Bank's footprint in the Midlands Region, Lexington market, as well as overseeing sales management and community development throughout.
He most recently served as the Regional President and Senior Vice President for previous financial institution where he managed a regional staff and supported the commercial, consumer, mortgage and wealth management lines of business. He also facilitated the bank's merger of another banking institution in the Grand Strand region. Prior to the merger, he developed strategic expansion de novo locations in the Midlands region.

Mr. Moore was named Senior Executive Vice-President and Chief Credit Officer in January 2021. Prior to that he joined the bank in July 2020 as Senior Vice President and Senior Credit Administrator. He is responsible for ensuring the underwriting and credit approval processes while supporting the bank's service culture. Dr. Lusk became a partner of Adams, O'Dell, Davidson, & Lusk OB/GYN PC from July 1993 until February 1996. He was appointed to the position of Chief Medical Officer for both McLeod Health and the McLeod Healthcare Network (CIN) in November 2018, where he supervises administrative staff of Medical Services as well as hospital personnel under the direction of departmental managers with all seven of the McLeod Health hospitals. Chuck Stuart was named President of First Reliance Mortgage in December 2020. In this role, he is responsible for the direction and oversight of all aspects of mortgage, as well as the strategic growth of First Reliance Mortgage. This would include overseeing all first mortgage loan production, origination, processing, underwriting, closing, construction lending, secondary market trading execution, pricing, and all related functions. He provides leadership for the origination, delivery, and administration of quality first mortgage products and services consistent with the bank's brand of delivering exceptional customer service.
Mr. Stuart joined First Reliance Bank in 2015 as Executive Vice-President of Mortgage Banking. Prior to joining First Reliance Bank, Mr. Stuart spent 14 years as Senior Vice-President of Residential Lending at a large SC-based community bank, where he was responsible for all residential lending activities across all channels and oversaw the capital markets and all sales in the secondary markets. Mr. Stuart has worked in the mortgage banking industry in South Carolina since 1994.

Julius (Cass) G. Parris entered the graphics and brand management industry in 1970 with Pittsburgh-based Matthews International. Cass and two longtime associates began their own graphics business in 2003. They sold Focus Imaging of Atlanta, GA, to Southern Graphics Systems in 2009. SGS is a world leader in brand management and graphic solutions for consumer products companies. Cass continued to manage large national clients for SGS through 2019, at which time he retired with 49 years in the business. He continues with community service, his many hobbies, travel, and spending time with family.
F. Justin Strickland was appointed, January 2021, as President, of First Reliance Bank where he will oversee the bank's commercial platform and growth as the bank continues to expand its presence throughout North and South Carolina.

Rick Saunders has worked in finance and banking as his career of choice from an early age. From 1983 through 1997, Mr. Saunders was Senior Vice President and City Executive of Florence for Pee Dee State Bank, where he was also a member of the Senior Loan Committee and Board of Directors. During this time, his responsibilities included corporate banking, business development, and policy making. From 1997 to 1998, he served as Senior Market Executive with Centura Bank after its merger with Pee Dee State Bank. In 1998, he began organizing First Reliance Bank and presently serves as its Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Saunders graduated from the South Carolina Bankers School, a cooperative program with the College of Business Administration of the University of South Carolina in 1986. Two years later, he graduated from the Southeastern School of Agriculture Lending, a cooperative program with the College of Agricultural Science of Clemson University.
Mr. Rick Saunders began his banking profession in 1983 and progressively worked in various capacities. In recognition of his success and dedication, he was made a Vice President and Director of Pee Dee State Bank in 1990, serving in this capacity until March 1998. When Pee Dee State Bank merged with Centura Bank, Mr. Saunders was made the Senior Market Officer of Centura Bank in Florence, South Carolina, a position he retained until November of 1998. Mr. Saunders then resigned to organize First Reliance Bank.

Octavia is a 1991 graduate of South Florence High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude in Public Affairs & History from Columbia College and her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is currently Chief Human Resources Officer at McLeod Health in Florence, SC and previously worked there as Vice President, Workplace Health & Safety. Prior to joining McLeod in 2002, Octavia worked in Human Resource Management for Sony Electronics in Park Ridge, NJ and for Pepsi Bottling Group in Atlanta, GA. Octavia served 12 years on the Florence City Council. She was the first African American elected at large and the first female elected since 1953. She is a Liberty Fellow and graduate of Furman University's Diversity Institute. She is a former President of the South Carolina Municipal Association. Octavia and her husband, local attorney Charlie Blake, have two daughters, and are host parents for international students.
Mr. Paul Saunders served as a Vice President of Pee Dee State Bank from October 1987 until March 1998. In March 1998, Centura Bank acquired Pee Dee State Bank by merger. From the time of merger until November 1998, Mr. Saunders served as Senior Consumer Officer and Financial Sales Officer in Florence, S.C. He resigned to organize First Reliance Bank where he currently is Senior Vice President and Retail Banking Officer.

William Jack McElveen, Jr. (Jack) began his banking career in the financial services industry with Banker Trust of SC/NCNB. During his career, Jack has served in various credit administration roles with increased levels of responsibility. The last was Chief Credit Officer, EVP, of Horry County State Bank, where he was responsible for management and oversight of the bank's Credit Administration function. Upon his retirement from First Reliance Bank, Jack was responsible for managing and overseeing the bank's loan portfolio, overseeing all credit administration functions, and providing direct supervision and accountability for Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Special Assets, and Loss Mitigation & Recovery. Jack is a Clemson University graduate, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management.
