MATTHEW DUFFY

Born and raised in McGraths Cove, Matthew is no stranger to the fishing industry here in Nova Scotia. While enjoying boating and sport fishing Matthew is also an active member of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary. Graduating from Nova Scotia Community College, Matthew holds a certificate in Occupational Health & Safety. This combined with his knowledge of the fishing industry makes him an excellent fit as the Fisheries Safety Association's Executive Director. Matthew has set a goal of obtaining his CHSC (Certified Health & Safety Consultant) designation, then moving on to pursuing his CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation.

MEGHAN FINLAYSON

Meghan grew up in beautiful Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Meghan joined our team in Spring of 2021 as our very first co-op student and she now holds a diploma from Nova Scotia Community College in Occupational Health & Safety. Meghan has always had a passion for safety, helping others, and making sure people avoid injury while at work. Committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for our members, Meghan provides leadership, training, information, resources, and promotes open discussion of safety concerns to increase the overall safety culture in the Nova Scotia Seafood Industry. Meghan wants to work towards her CRST certification in the near future!

Nathalie Burgess

Nathalie grew up in a small fishing community on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Nathalie graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2018 with her Bachelor of Business Administration with proven computer, leadership, and organizational skills. Nathalie has joined Fish Safe NS with the excitement to learn the industry and to help our team.
