Lisa Bennett

Job Titles:
  • Veterinarian
Since her childhood in Warner Robins, Georgia, Dr. Bennett has felt a deep connection to the animals who came into her life. An eighth grade class encouraged her to explore career options. Then, as a senior in high school, she chose to observe and participate in care regimens at a local Animal Hospital. She came away from that work/study experience with a certainty that she wanted to be a veterinarian. From that point forward, she worked in earnest to reach that goal. Dr. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1987 and subsequently graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. As a new graduate, she started out at a Clinic in Cordele, Georgia. Then she worked in Macon, Georgia. Eventually, she moved back to Athens. While raising her daughter, she worked in the area for various clinics and as a Relief Veterinarian. She continues to find meaning in doing this work for the animals in her care and their families. She loves cats and has seven of them along with two older Australian Shepherd dogs. She enjoys traveling, doing yard work and planting flowers, and just being outdoors.
