Amelia joined Foresite Capital in 2017. She brings more than 10 years of combined professional experience in the compliance and legal fields.
Prior to joining Foresite Capital, Amelia was a Partner and Senior Vice President at Cordium, the second largest compliance consulting firm in the U.S. During her 7-year tenure at Cordium, she launched and was the head of the firm's West Coast Office. She was also responsible for overseeing and monitoring the compliance programs of more than 85 registered investment advisers (representing over $35 billion in assets). Amelia began her legal career in Boston at Proskauer Rose, where she focused on private-equity fund formation. She received her B.A. from Wesleyan University and her J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Austin is a member of the investment team at Foresite Capital, focused on opportunities across healthcare technology and services. Austin also oversees Foresite's impact investing framework, which includes quantifying and tracking the impact of Foresite investments on health outcomes.
Prior to Foresite, Austin spent four years at Oxeon Partners, where she worked with entrepreneurs and investors in the healthcare IT and services space to grow their businesses, through people, partnerships, and investments. Austin also developed and led Break into the Boardroom, a collaboration between Oxeon and Deerfield Management aimed at increasing diversity at the board level. Austin started her career in the global health space, working on health projects in Rwanda and Tanzania. She served as an Operations Fellow for Gardens for Health International, partnering with the Rwandan government to incorporate agriculture into the clinical treatment of chronic malnutrition. Austin recently graduated from UC Berkeley with a Master of Public Health and MBA. While at Haas, Austin worked in Finance at Genentech. Austin graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College with an honors degree in international studies.

Chase joined Foresite Capital in 2022 as an Associate on the Research team, where he focuses on identifying early-stage transformational technologies in the life sciences.
Chase received his Ph.D. in genetics and genomics as an NSF Graduate Fellow from University of Florida in the lab of Dr. Eric Wang, where he studied the intersection of subcellular RNA localization, repeat expansion disease mechanisms, and gene therapy engineering strategies.
Chase led and collaborated on studies in both experimental and computational biology, the latter of which included building high-throughput automated image analysis methods for single-molecule RNA imaging. He also participated in our first Foresite Fellows Program cohort.
Prior to his graduate studies, Chase worked as a research associate in protein and RNA engineering at Editas Medicine in Cambridge, MA, where he led projects on directed evolution of Cas9 and guide RNAs. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering and physics from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and during his undergraduate training he built additional experience in nanoparticle drug delivery, protein engineering, and gene editing through internships in academia and industry.

Cindy joined in 2017 to head marketing and communications for Foresite Capital, bringing 20 years of experience as a marketing executive at technology startups.
Prior to joining Foresite Capital, she was a consultant to early and mid-stage startups with clients in entertainment, healthcare and professional services. She served as VP marketing at We Heart It, the social image-sharing platform with 40MM members. Cindy co-founded mobile ad targeting platform Metaresolver, acquired by Millennial Media, and mobile content company Moderati, acquired by Bellrock Media. She has also held executive-level positions in HR, including a stint as VP People for Yelp. Cindy holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas school at U.C. Berkeley.

Collin joined Foresite Capital in 2016 as a member of the investment team and focuses on evaluating investment opportunities of private and public biotech companies. Collin serves as a board observer for Avenzo Therapeutics and RayThera. Collin previously served as a board observer at XinThera (acquired by Gilead Sciences).
Collin started his career as an investment banking analyst in the Healthcare Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he focused on biopharma mergers & acquisitions and capital markets transactions.

Cynthia supports the office of the CEO.

David is an operating partner at Foresite Labs, and also serves as senior advisor at Foresite Capital. With more than 20 years of expertise in clinical development, drug commercialization and advancing therapies for patients in need, David supports Foresite Labs' incubated companies, particularly their translational and clinical research commitments, and explores and initiates new programs and company concepts.
David joined Foresite Labs from Regeneron, where he was the executive vice president and head of global clinical development. During his tenure with the company, David managed programs across different therapeutic focus areas, including its successful Dupixent program and its COVID therapeutic antibody. Prior to Regeneron, he was the head of global development for specialty medicine at Bayer Pharmaceuticals and previously served as executive director and global product area leader (Angiogenesis) at Amgen.

Deepak joined Foresite in 2022 as an Investment Analyst on the Investment team. His work focuses on evaluating investment opportunities in biotech and healthcare companies.
Deepak is a physician-scientist. He completed his MD at Yale, where he was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellow. He then completed clinical training in medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and cardiovascular medicine at Brigham & Women's Hospital, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular and population genetics between Brigham & Women's and The Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard.
Dennis has over three decades of experience as a financial executive in the venture capital, private equity, investment and real estate industries.
Dennis began his career with the international accounting firm KPMG (Peat, Marwick & Mitchell). As a licensed certified public accountant (CPA - inactive) in California, Dennis has served as chief financial officer and senior executive in firms ranging from a publicly owned real estate investment trust (REIT), Western Properties Trust, to a sponsor of a series of venture debt funds, Lighthouse Capital Partners, to a start-up of investment funds, Berkeley Advisors Group. In his role as chief financial officer with these firms, his responsibilities included debt and equity financing, investment structuring, financial reporting, portfolio management and strategic planning. Since 2011, Dennis has led the Operations Group at Foresite Capital as Chief Financial Officer.
Dorothy joined Foresite Capital in 2012 and has overseen the development of Foresite Capital's research and development evaluation group.
Dorothy has worked with Jim for more than 21 years, previously at Prospect Ventures as a Managing Director in charge of Research, and now at Foresite Capital. In this capacity, Dorothy built an early version of the Foresite Capital investment technical review process, rigorously analyzing biotechnology company portfolios on the basis of scientific validation, clinical efficacy and safety, manufacturing readiness and FDA regulatory risk.
Earlier, Dorothy had 15 years of drug development experience at Merck Research Labs, ultimately becoming a Senior Vice President with responsibility for a wide variety of clinical development programs and project planning. In particular, she was deeply involved in the design and execution of several vaccine programs, including Gardisil, RotaTeq, Varivax and Zostavax. Dorothy received an MRL Divisional Scientific Award in 1998 for developing one of Merck's largest drugs, Singulair. In addition, she led the team that designed and implemented the advanced AIDS program during the development of Crixivan, one of the first HIV protease inhibitors that revolutionized the treatment of HIV infection.
Prior to joining Merck, Dorothy received an M.D. from Johns Hopkins Medical School where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and a B.A. from Harvard University where she graduated summa cum laude. She is boarded in both Internal Medicine and Pulmonary, and completed her residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and fellowship training at UCSF.

Dr. Cindy Xiong joined Foresite Capital in 2019 as a member of the investment team, focusing on evaluating investment opportunities of private and public biotech companies. Cindy serves on the boards of ImmPACT Bio (board director), Xinthera Inc.(board observer, acquired by Gilead) and Remix Therapeutics (board observer).
Prior to Foresite, Cindy earned her MBA in Healthcare Management from the Wharton school. During her time at Wharton, she interned at Lilly Asia Ventures and was a summer analyst at Tybourne Capital. Cindy received her PhD in Biology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she studied neural regeneration and degeneration post axonal injury. After that, she was a Helen Hay Whitney postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Wendell Lim at UCSF, developing new technologies for genome and cell engineering. She then joined Agenovir as the first scientist, where she led a team to develop CRISPR based therapeutics for HPV induced cancers.
Hadi joined Foresite Capital in 2023 to lead the firm's investor relations, capital formation and strategic business initiatives program. He joined Foresite from B Capital Group, where he was as a Partner & Global Head of Investor Relations. Prior to B Capital, he was at Coatue Management, a technology-focused investment manager he joined in 2017 as a senior member of the Investor Relations department. He previously spent nine years in a variety of roles at BlackRock, including head of cross-border corporate transactions and as a coverage officer in BlackRock's Institutional Client Business. Earlier in his career, he was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Hadi graduated from Rice University summa cum laude with a BA in Political Science and Economics, and he earned his JD from Stanford Law School.

Hyung joined Foresite Capital in 2021 as a member of the investment team and focuses on evaluating investment opportunities in private and public biotech companies. Hyung serves as a board member for Latigo Biotherapeutics and a board observer for Odyssey Therapeutics.
Hyung is a physician scientist who joined Foresite Capital from Yale School of Medicine, where he was a tenured faculty member and continues to remain an adjunct faculty. He has published extensively in top scientific and medical journals including Nature, Science, New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, and Science Translational Medicine, and is an inventor on multiple patents. He has served in multiple academic leadership roles, including as Co-Director of the Yale Cardiovascular Research Center and Director of Translational Research of the Yale Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program, as well as in advisory roles to multiple large pharmaceutical companies and early stage biotechs. He has had continuous funding from the National Institutes of Health throughout his academic career and has been the recipient of multiple honors including the Jeremiah Stamler Distinguished Young Investigator Prize, Irvine H. Page Award from the Amerian Heart Association, election as a Fellow of the American Heart Association, election into the Sir William Osler Interurban Clinical Club, and induction into the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
Hyung received his A.B. with honors in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard College, his M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular fellowship at Stanford, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge. Hyung is a board-certified cardiologist who continues to manage patients with cardiovascular disease.

Insiya is a member of the investment team at Foresite Capital, focusing on therapeutics investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Foresite Capital, Insiya was a Life Science Consultant at ClearView Healthcare Partners, where she worked on strategic and due diligence projects for leading pharma, biotech and life sciences clients. During her time at ClearView she supported clinical trial design, product launches, and portfolio optimization. Previously Insiya worked at Barclays and Bristol Myers Squibb. She was also a member of Alimtas Bioventures which focused on catalyzing life science entrepreneurship at academic institutions. Insiya graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in Chemistry.

Jacob is an Associate on the Research team where he focuses on identifying early stage transformational technologies within the life sciences field.
Prior to Foresite, Jacob was a Fellow at Northpond Ventures where he focused on investments within the life science tools and diagnostics space. He completed his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Caltech in the lab of Dr. Rustem Ismagilov. His thesis focused on quantitative nucleic acid technologies for the study of the human microbiome and the development of new diagnostics. He led and collaborated on several human clinical studies interrogating host-microbial interactions in irritable bowel syndrome, Celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and cognition.
Jacob received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering and B.S. in Biochemistry at Northeastern University. During his time there he completed biotech internships at Moderna Therapeutics, Entrega Biosciences, and the Massachusetts General Hospital division of precision medicine. His work focused on RNA secondary structure and function relationships, oral drug delivery, and phage display for the discovery of new cancer imaging peptides.

Jim Tananbaum is the founder and chief executive officer of Foresite Capital, a U.S.-focused healthcare investment firm founded in 2011 that has approximately $3.5 billion in assets under management. Jim assembles the people, ideas and money needed to launch products that save lives and improve healthcare. He is always looking for visionary entrepreneurs with insights into therapeutics, devices, diagnostics or services that could, with the right support, change the world.
During the last three decades Jim has been a thought partner for some of the most impactful and fastest growth companies of their generation including: 10x Genomics (Nasdaq: TXG), Amerigroup (Nasdaq: ANTM), and Jazz Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: JAZZ).
Since high school, Jim has had two main areas of interest: 1) mathematics and computer algorithms and 2) biology and healthcare. Since founding Foresite Capital, Jim has been optimistic about the merger of these two previously very different fields. His intent has been to place Foresite Capital, its resources and networks at the frontier of this data-driven revolution, and to help build transformative healthcare companies that will significantly improve the quality and effectiveness of the entire U.S. healthcare system.
As an undergraduate, Jim attended Yale, where he graduated with a BS and BSEE in Applied Math and Electrical Engineering/Computer Science. He then earned an MD from Harvard and graduated from the Harvard/MIT HST Program. He also earned an MBA from Harvard while playing rugby.
Jim's first success came while he was still at Harvard Business School when he co-founded GelTex Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq:GENZ). For less than $80 million in funding, GelTex brought two drugs to market. The company was acquired in 1999 for $1.4 billion when its lead drug, Renagel (later renamed Renvela), had an annual revenue run rate exceeding $19.5 million. Decades later, Renvela still has annual sales estimated over $850 million. Jim was the founding chief executive of Theravance, Inc. Under his tenure he raised over $350M. Theravance has since split into two parts, one of which is now part of GSK's respiratory franchise through a joint venture, Innoviva (Nasdaq: INVA), and the other was spun out into Theravance Biopharma, Inc. (Nasdaq: TBPH). Together, they achieved a market capitalization that exceeded $4 billion.
Jim's investment experience includes being a co-founder of Prospect Ventures and earlier in his career, a partner of Sierra Ventures, where he established its healthcare services investment practice.

Prior to Foresite Capital, she spent 10 years as executive assistant to the President of Food & Beverage at a major casino in Northern California, where she assisted with two significant expansions. She managed travel, meetings, menu planning and design.

Jonathan joined Foresite Capital in 2023 as a member of the investment team focusing on evaluating investment opportunities. Jonathan additionally supports company ideation and incubation through Foresite Labs.
Jon is a physician scientist who joined Foresite Capital from Merck Research Laboratories, where he was an Executive Director (Distinguished Scientist) and Therapeutic Area Head for Immunology in Translational Medicine. At Merck, Jon was responsible for the oversight of early clinical development from first in human through proof of concept, as well as the evaluation of external assets in the Immunology space. Jonathan additionally led the strategy and clinical execution for multiple programs spanning neuroscience, general medicine, infectious diseases and vaccines. Previously, Jon was on faculty at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Jon received his B.A. in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania, his M.D. from Cornell University and his Ph.D. from the Rockefeller University. He completed training in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the combined Brigham and Women's/Massachusetts General Hospital program.
As a member of Foresite Capital's compliance team, Jorge works on developing, implementing, and maintaining the firm's compliance program.
Jorge has been working in compliance for the past eight years. Prior to joining Foresite Capital, Jorge was Senior Compliance Associate at CVC Credit Partners, an alternative investment manager which invests in corporate credit across the cap structure. Prior to CVC Credit, Jorge worked at Cordium, a compliance consultancy firm.
Katie joined Foresite Capital in 2022 as an Executive Assistant on the Administrative team, where she provides executive support to the investment team.
She brings with her over 10 years of experience in management support and holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas.
Kelly joined the Foresite Capital team in 2018 and provides executive support for both the investment team and Investor Relations leadership.
Prior to joining Foresite Capital, Kelly held various positions in the Education and Training office of the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She most recently supported the Transitional Year Residency Program. Kelly completed a B.A. in Business Communications at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO.
Kevin joined Foresite Capital in 2018 and is a member of the investment team focusing on informed, cost effective and compliant trading.
Kevin has more than 20 years of experience in institutional asset management concentrating in SMID Cap trading, operations and investment process optimization. Previously he served as head trader and vice president of operations at RS Investments. In this role, he focused on improving portfolio implementation, execution, risk management and transparency. Prior to RS Investments, Kevin began his career at Putnam Investments in international trade support.
Kevin holds a B.A. from Connecticut College with a concentration in political economies.
Lauren joined Foresite Capital in 2022, and provides support to the Head of Research and Life Sciences team. She also assists in managing the Foresite Fellows Program.
Previously, Lauren spent 5 years supporting the Founder and Chief of Staff at MTS Health Partners in New York City. Here, she gained extensive experience in event coordination and project management. Prior to MTS Health Partners, Lauren served as a Business Development Manager at a start-up Hedge Fund, Philanthropy Capital Management. In this role, she helped launch the Philanthropy Capital Foundation and worked with multiple charitable organizations across the country.
Prior to joining Philanthropy Capital Management, Lauren served as an Executive Personal Assistant to fashion designer, Stacey Bendet, and TV mogul/businesswoman, Bethenny Frankel. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a focus in Public Relations, and a minor in Psychology, from East Stroudsburg University where she graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors.

Lisa joined Foresite Capital from her role as assistant controller at Industrial Growth Partners, a private equity firm specializing in acquiring privately held middle market companies. Previously, she worked as a tax accountant specializing in Alternative Investments and partnership and corporate entities in industries ranging from hedge fund, technology and real estate.
Lisa received her Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis and her Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
Liz Canis is an executive advisor at Foresite Capital Management. She sources opportunities, oversees diligence for prospective investments, monitors portfolio assets, and supports internal incubation opportunities.
An experienced senior executive and board director, Liz brings a unique combination of strategic leadership, financial discipline, and operational experience. Previously, Liz was vice president of emerging business & partnerships at Elevance Health, the second largest national payer with $150B annual revenue. In this role she led innovation and commercialization of new assets to differentiate Elevance and diversify sources of future growth.
Prior to Elevance, Liz served as ventures lead at Savvysherpa, a healthcare venture capital/innovation firm. She also was founder and CEO of The Pivot Group, leading a team of recognized experts offering consulting and advisory services to venture capital, private equity, and healthcare organizations.
Liz spent eleven years at UnitedHealth Group in a variety of leadership roles where she developed a keen understanding of behavioral economics, consumer engagement and risk management.

Matt is an executive advisor for the Life Sciences investment team at Foresite where he focuses on investment opportunities transformational tools and diagnostics companies as well as supporting existing portfolio companies.
Before coming to Foresite, Matt was the Chief Business Officer at Quantum-Si where he helped grow the company from 10 to 100+ employees, led product strategy, and helped raise over $500M as both a private company and part of an IPO. Prior to Quantum-Si, Matt held various roles supporting a number of companies that across the 4Catalyzer incubator (Buttefly Newtork, Hyperfine, Detect, and AI Therapeutics). Matt started in the industry holding various roles at Life Technologies working on NGS platforms (SOLiD, Ion Torrent). Matt enjoys working at the intersection of technology and business and is listed as an inventor on over 35 patents. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and participating in endurance races.

Tom joined Foresite Capital in 2024 and is responsible for deepening existing client relationships and developing new ones.
Before joining Foresite, Tom spent nearly seven years at RTX Corporation, where was most recently a Senior Director of Corporate Investor Relations responsible for communicating RTX's strategy and business results to investors. Prior to that he was an asset allocator for the RTX pension investment team where he was a portfolio manager responsible for the private equity, real estate and fixed income asset classes. Prior to RTX, Tom was a member of the Institutional Client Business team at BlackRock, where he specialized in pension coverage, and a Product Specialist at Bloomberg.
