Construction has always been at the center of Andrew Cortese's life. He grew up in a family owned construction business, and began working in the field with his father as a teenager. Andrew started his construction career during college, working as a freelance estimator for a variety of subcontractors. He graduated Pratt Institute summa cum laude in 1993 with a degree in Construction Management. Andrew joined John Gallin & Son in 1994 as a full-time estimator, spending four years working on conceptual budgets, value engineering and lump sum estimating. Over the past 20 years, Andrew has worked his way up through the ranks to become a Vice President and Project Manager - a position in which he had full responsibility for the management of projects and communication with clients. In 2015, Andrew was promoted to Vice President of Operations. As Vice President of Operations, Andrew is responsible for the successful and timely completion of all the firm's construction projects. After carefully setting up project teams, he works with the project managers to seek out creative approaches to resolving problems that arise during the construction process. As the company's top troubleshooter, Andrew is constantly following up with project managers to make sure the job gets done right. Andrew, like all Gallin employees, is open and candid with clients in an effort to earn their trust. All of his clients view Andrew as an integral part of their team, a leader whose only concern is the successful outcome of every project.

Arturo Lora began his career in construction 14 years ago as a Mason Tender at Morse Diesel/AMEC. He worked his way up to Mason Tender Forman. In 2004 he joined John Gallin & Son as a Mason Tender. In 2011 Arturo was promoted to Superintendent - a position that has allowed him to work enthusiastically with clients. Arturo also continues to develop his knowledge in construction and enforcing safety in the field. As Superintendent, Arturo coordinates the day-to-day operations of the job in the field. He ensures that the project adheres to the highest professional standards and is completed on time and on budget. He also serves as a liaison to the client and the architect, providing them with frequent progress reports. Arturo starts each project by reviewing the construction drawings to pinpoint potential problems. He schedules the subcontractors, organizes the trades and makes sure that the correct materials are on hand. When Arturo isn't walking the site to check on progress, he's on the phone talking with his subcontractors and suppliers in an effort to head off potential problems before they can create delays. Noting his talent, the firm sponsored his formal construction training at the Mechanics Institute of Technology. He's now following in his father's footsteps as a Superintendent, bringing that Giannone talent, commitment, and can-do attitude to every project. He's a natural communicator, something his clients and co-workers respond well to, and his attention to detail engenders confidence and respect among architects and engineers. Her career officially began when she joined the Las Vegas real estate Brokerage firm of CBRE as an agent in 1997. After a move to New York City in 2008, she shifted her focus to business development, working with a general contractor here in the city. Over the last ten years, she has built a reputation for hard work, dedication, honesty, and - most importantly - integrity. Cat, like all Gallin employees, is open and candid with her clients and coworkers, basing each relationship on a foundation of trust. Beginning in 1990, she worked closely for several years with the Secretary Treasurer, Maureen Gallin, learning the day-to-day operations at the corporate headquarters. This led to her current position as Office Manager, where she plays an integral role in ensuring that the office environment operates smoothly. She is also responsible for the hiring and training of the entire administrative team. Christine is the second generation of Cartwright family members to join the John Gallin & Son team. Her father, Peter, and sister, Eileen, have also worked for the firm.

The fact that Eric has proven himself such a capable leader is no surprise to anyone who has worked at the firm over the last several decades. Eric joins a long list of Zieglers to work for John Gallin & Son. His great-grandfather and grandfather were both carpenters for the firm. His father rose from carpenter to become a partner and chief estimator. His brother, Walter, is currently the vice president of estimating and purchasing. The Zieglers are one of several families with a legacy of multiple generations at Gallin. Eric Ziegler joined John Gallin & Son in 2009 as estimator after spending more than 10 years working as a consultant in the financial industry. As a consultant, Eric performed thorough analyses of procedures to develop solutions that exceeded his clients' expectations. His analytical capabilities and attention to detail, as well as his work ethic, have transferred well to the construction industry. Now as director of estimating, he manages the team as they price jobs for budgets and bid proposals. Under his watchful eye, they acquire detailed knowledge of the construction documents, determine which trade groups will be involved, and discuss the job with subcontractors to ensure an accurate scope of work is presented to the client at a competitive price. Eric also oversees special projects and works hard to maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and vendors to ensure open, clear communication and a positive outcome.

Erica Barker

An early interest in both design and engineering led Erica to set her sights on a career in construction. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Construction Management and Engineering, she joined Gallin in 2016 as a Project Manager Assistant. Gallin then enlisted her as an Estimator, where she became proficient in the bidding process. Erica has since returned to her roots in management, where she draws on all her training and experience to serve as a Project Manager. A people-person, Erica believes in establishing strong relationships with everyone involved in her projects: from clients and client reps, to Gallin's supers, crew members, suppliers and vendors. Her collaborative spirit and sense of responsibility make her an excellent team leader. As Project Manager, Erica has full responsibility for seeing each project through to a successful completion. Meticulous and detail-oriented, she spends a great deal of time examining construction documents to maintain accuracy and quality control. As the primary liaison among the client, architect, engineer, Gallin management, and subcontractors, Erica plans, schedules, and coordinates the physical construction of the site. In addition to giving the client and architect daily updates, she meets with them on a weekly basis for a more comprehensive touch-base to ensure things are progressing quickly and smoothly - on time and on budget.

Walter is one of four members of the Ziegler family to make his career at John Gallin & Son. His great-grandfather and grandfather were both carpenters for the firm, and his father rose from carpenter to become a partner and Vice President of Estimating and Purchasing. The Zieglers are one of several families with a legacy of multiple generations at Gallin. Walter, like all Gallin employees, goes out of his way to build a collaborative relationship with his clients.
