GEM DESIGN TECHNOLOGIES

Semiconductors are widely used in many electronic products in our daily life, thanks to the hard working designers. To help the semiconductor designers, academia and industry have been working closely to provide them better design tools. This technical field is called the electronic design automation (EDA). The reason why academia and industry work together in the field is that both practical view and theoretical view are necessary to improve the tools. The cooperation worked fine in earlier times, but it is now becoming harder and harder for bridging between the realms of academia and industry. For a theorist, the real design involves too many issues to catch up. For a practitioner, the basic knowledge to start with is too vast. Today, we need an individual player at the right middle point between them.
