Michelle Garneau

Michelle Garneau attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology/Biology from the University of Alberta. This led to 17 successful years in the workforce. Her diverse experience includes developing and trouble-shooting lab experiments and assisting graduate and undergraduate students with lab procedures, sales of scientific products for research labs and biotechnology companies and sales of supplies and equipment to veterinarians. She also educated and trained researchers, veterinarians, animal health technologists on products and equipment use. Through Michelle's extensive sales experience, she has developed her communication, negotiation and training skills. With a desire to use her Psychology education and a natural ability to assist people in reaching resolution, she pursued extensive training in mediation through the Alberta Arbitration and Mediation Society (AAMS). To further her expertise and professionalism, Michelle actively sought out career training and mentorship and attended numerous mediations and case flow conferences. Michelle Garneau has worked as a family mediator with Family Justice Services in Edmonton and currently runs a private practice and works as a contract family mediator for Resolution Services Edmonton and Regional Alberta. She has served as a Board member with the Alberta Family Mediation Society (AFMS), was a volunteer mediator with the Strathcona County Community Mediation Society (SCCM), and is a Member of provincial, national and international dispute resolution organizations. Michelle continues her ongoing pursuit of education in the field of mediation and dispute resolution.
