Beatrice McGinley

Beatrice is a specialist physiotherapist in the management and treatment of pelvic issues with both men and women. These include musculoskeletal problems, incontinence, gynaecological conditions, pelvic pain, ante- and post-natal care and menopause. She runs a specific post-natal check-up clinic for mothers, is Mummy MOT trained and is committed to helping women regain their physical wellbeing after giving birth and maintaining good strength and healthy bones through the post menopause years. She also treats men with incontinence problems especially men who are pre and post prostatectomy surgery and those with chronic pelvic pain conditions. Beatrice is a chartered physiotherapist who qualified from UCD with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) in 1992 and from Bradford University, U.K. with a Post Grad Diploma in Womens Health in 2008. She worked in the USA and the Irish Health Services prior to commencing work as a private practitioner in Galway City Physiotherapy in 1998 and runs the clinic in partnership with Sharon Morris and Clíodhna Ní Choisdealbha.

Cathal O'Regan

Cathal is a Chartered Physiotherapist who graduated with Honours from the University of Limerick in 2017. Since qualifying Cathal has worked in a variety of clinical settings. After graduating Cathal initially worked in an acute hospital setting treating post-operative orthopaedic patients. He then worked in an outpatient orthopaedic setting, working closely with Orthopaedic consultants and their teams. Since then, he has gained extensive experience working in a variety of outpatient clinical settings, both publicly and privately. Cathal currently works as a Senior Physiotherapist with the HSE in the Primary Care setting. Cathal has a wealth of experience in treating stubborn, chronic pain and helping people improve their quality of life. He takes great pleasure in helping clients who have been debilitated due to pain, to return to the activities they enjoy. Cathal takes a patient centred approach to treatment, tailoring management to the specific needs of the patient based on their presentation and complaints. Cathal has a keen interest in sports and has worked with many sports teams (Gaelic Football, Hurling, Soccer, Rugby). Utilising his background in sports, Cathal enjoys treating sports injuries and facilitating rehabilitation to help players return to pre-injury levels of performance. Identifying factors contributing to injuries, use of manual therapies, progressive exercise prescription and sports specific return to play rehabilitation are some of the methods he likes to utilise. Cathal has always spent much of his free time involved in sports. He continues to play Gaelic football with his local GAA club and also enjoys playing golf in his spare time. He also has a keen interest in soccer, hurling and rugby.

Clíodhna Ní Choisdealbha

Clíodhna is a Chartered Physiotherapist who graduated from UCD in 2006. She has spent the bulk of her career to date working in musculoskeletal and sports physio. Clíodhna is a recognised Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal Therapy. She owns and manages the clinic with Beatrice McGinley and Sharon Morris. Clíodhna is a Chartered Physiotherapist who graduated from UCD in 2006. She has spent the bulk of her career to date working in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. Clíodhna is a recognised Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal Therapy. She owns and manages the clinic with Beatrice McGinley and Sharon Morris. After graduating from UCD, she spent six years working in New Zealand where she completed a Master of Health Practice in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy with distinction. She worked extensively within Rugby Union while there, gaining valuable experience in a professional sports setting. During this time, she taught on Dry Needling post-grad courses, in both Australia and NZ as well as in Ireland. She also qualified as a Pilates Instructor through the APPI and began teaching Pilates classes and individual rehabilitation sessions. Clíodhna joined the team at Galway City Physiotherapy shortly after her return to Ireland in 2013. She took a break from the clinic in 2014 to work exclusively with the IRFU as Head Physiotherapist with the Women's Sevens Rugby team in the preparation and run up to their World Series campaign. She returned to the clinic in early 2016 and continued with her work in elite sport with the role of Head Physiotherapist with the Irish Women's Hockey team for their World Cup and Olympic campaigns, as well as with the Galway U-21 hurlers. She has worked as Lead Physiotherapist with the Galway Camogie teams at Minor, Intermediate and Senior level since 2016, and has travelled and worked with Athletics Ireland junior squads, Swim Ireland junior squads and the Connacht High Performance Swim team. Clíodhna continues to teach Pilates through the clinic and has a passion for returning athletes to sport after long-term and complex injuries. A musician herself, she enjoys the challenge of tackling injuries and strains that musicians encounter regularly.

David Gordon

Dave graduated with a Physiotherapy Degree from Teeside University in 2008 after first completing a Physiology and Health science degree from Carlow IT. He later completed his MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (Manipulative Therapy) at Teeside University in 2015 and is now a clinical specialist in Musculoskeletal Therapy (CPMT).

Kelsi McGrath

Kelsi is a chartered physiotherapist who qualified from The University of Pretoria (South Africa) with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) with distinction in 2017. She has worked in private and public healthcare settings in South Africa for 6 years, before joining the team at Galway City Physiotherapy in 2023. Her employment in South Africa helped her to gain experience in treating musculoskeletal conditions, acute and chronic respiratory conditions, and neurological rehabilitation. Initially, she worked closely with a neurologist and stroke team in the early intervention and management of stroke patients, their long-term goal planning and functional reintegration into society. During this time she also treated patients with musculoskeletal injuries and became the lead physiotherapist for a club rugby team where she discovered her passion for treating and rehabilitating athletes. She then travelled with rugby and hockey clubs (part-time) and was responsible for the teams' medical management throughout the University Sports South Africa (USSA) Tournaments. She was then presented with a wonderful opportunity to open her own private practice in South Africa which saw a range of patients- predominantly suffering from musculoskeletal injuries. She treated everyday aches and pains, work-related injuries, and athletes from many sporting disciplines such as swimming, athletics and long-distance running, soccer, and golf. During this time she also taught various Pilates classes at a studio that focussed on back and neck rehabilitation, general mobility and stretching, bone health and strengthening and strengthening for athletes or retired athletes. She has an interest in active recovery and return to function and uses her training in Pilates, Dry Needling, Hydrotherapy and Manual Therapy in the treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions. She understands the importance of a multifactorial approach and thus tailors her treatment and rehabilitation plans to suit each person she treats. Additionally, she believes in education and that understanding a diagnosis and the factors contributing to pain and dysfunction have a significant bearing on the healing process. Kelsi has competed in various sports at club, district, and provincial levels herself, and she is currently most interested and involved in touch rugby in Ireland. Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking and running and has a love for traveling.

Mark Hansbury

Mark graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 2007 with a B.Sc Physiotherapy (Hons) degree. Initially he worked in Ireland in a private practice setting and also worked alongside his local senior club hurling team and Special Olympics Ireland. He then moved to the USA where he spent the next 12 years working in a variety of clinical settings in both Massachusetts and California.

Michael Costello

Michael is a Chartered Physiotherapist who graduated with Honours from the University of Limerick in 2013. Initially he worked in private practice and with the Galway Senior footballers for some time. He then spent 6 years working in New Zealand and Australia where he gained extensive experience within musculoskeletal clinics. Michael worked closely with various elite sports teams over this time including the Cook Islands International Tag Rugby Team and the Auckland Rugby team. He provided physio support for a Ten day cycling tour and also had the privilege of working as a physiotherapist for the New Zealand PGA Open.

Sharon Morris

Sharon is a chartered physiotherapist who qualified from Trinity College Dublin with BSc Physiotherapy (Hons) in 1995, and completed her MSc in Applied Biomechanics at Strathclyde University, Glasgow in 2007. She has working as a physiotherapist over the last 27 years practicing in the UK, Australia and Ireland across public and private healthcare settings. She has worked as a private practitioner and high performance sports physiotherapist since 2000 at Galway City Physiotherapy, and owns and manages the clinic with Beatrice McGinley and Clíodhna Ní Choisdealbha.
