As an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ghobrial's treatment specialties include, but are not limited to joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, fracture and trauma management, as well as shoulder surgery. Dr. Ghobrial works continuously furthering his skills in medicine as well as the latest advances in technology. Striving to stay in touch with the latest procedures, surgical products and methods always keeping patient quality of life as his primary focus.
Dr. Tom Ghobrial has been serving the tri-state area since August of 1997. He grew up in suburban Potomac, Maryland where he graduated from Charles Woodward High School. He pursued his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland during which he was selected for an opportunity to do research at the National Institutes of Health. In 1988 Dr. Ghobrial was granted a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a focus on Microbiology from the College of Life Sciences at the University of Maryland College Park. He then earned a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Maryland School of Medicine at Baltimore in 1992. Dr. Ghobrial completed his surgical internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Systems.
