Global Ship Services (GSS) opened its doors in 1975 as a mom-and-pop Ship Chandelling operation out of New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1993 Global Ship Services was purchased by Salim Shaikh from its founder Capt. Vinod Saigal. Over the next decade our team expanded to about 70 staff members as the company expanded its operations all along the US Gulf Coast. In 2010 Global Ship Services merged with a major US Gulf Operator, Alliance Ship Management. Alliance Ship Management then went on to merge with Ship Supply of Florida in 2017... When Ship Supply of Florida closed its doors in 2019 Global Ship Services (GSS) recommenced its operations retaining many of our valued employees from the previous mergers. Today Global Ship Services has warehouses all over the US Gulf Coast and provides excellent customer service to thousands of vessels each year.
