IN THE SPRING OF 1964 several local contractors saw the need for an organization to represent the construction industry managers in their relations with customers, labor and the general public. Thus, after many meetings, discussions and the promotion of the idea of the organizations to the interested parties, the Parkersburg-Marietta Contractors Association was incorporated on January 21, 1966. The original incorporators were: Carl E. Stephens, Stephens Construction Co., George Black, Black Construction Co., Howard L. Deever, Jr., Deever Construction Co., David Heiby, W.H. Heiby Company and Paul Grimm, Sr. Grimm Construction Co., who served as its first president.
