Brian is a graduate of Temple University and holds a Masters in Taxation from Widener University. Through providing tax, accounting and business advisory services to clients in a wide-range of industries, Brian has achieved a distinguished career in the accounting field with over 35 years of experience. He specializes in consultation on complex accounting and tax matters for closely held and investor backed companies.
A strong believer in personalized service, Brian is dedicated to spending time preparing and educating his clients about the services that will improve the financial integrity and security of their businesses. His commitment to identifying clients' specific needs and engaging them in the service process results in satisfying, long-term relationships.
Outside of his role as Managing Member at GMS Surgent, Brian serves on the Pact Philadelphia Tech & Services Recruiting Selection Committee. In addition, Brian is an active member of the PICPA Coorperation with the Bar Committee - a group dedicated to expanding relationships between CPAs and attorneys and building strong, open communications channels with local and state bar associations. In 2008, Brian was announced Treasurer of Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS) and he also serves on the board's executive committee.
Brian is proudly married with 2 children and enjoys spending summers in Sea Isle City, NJ with his family.
Brian graduated from LaSalle University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Upon graduation, Brian joined a large accounting firm in Philadelphia where he specialized in taxation. Wanting to expand his knowledge base to corporate tax work, he joined SunGard Data Systems as a tax analyst while he also finished his Masters Degree in Taxation. In 2005, Brian joined GMS Surgent and specializes in tax planning and compliance for both business and individual clients including S corp, partnerships, and high net-worth individuals. Throughout the years Brian developed into a true leader and continues to bring a depth of experience to our firm. In 2018, Brian was admitted to the LLC as a Member (Partner).
Everett graduated from Fairfield University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He joined the GMS Surgent team as a staff accountant, and was promoted to Director in 2021. Everett has a diversified range of experience servicing investor backed and closely held businesses in a variety of industries, as well as high net worth individuals.
After graduating from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, followed by earning a Masters in Taxation from Villanova School of Law, Lauren joined GMS Surgent as a staff accountant. Her hard work, dedication and natural affinity for accounting gained the respect of her peers who later rewarded her with an invitation to be included as a Member of the firm. Lauren persists to meet her clients needs and obtain the results her clients deserve.
Lauren has over 25 years of experience in the accounting industry, including financial statements, audits, taxation for individuals and businesses, including expertise in mergers and acquisitions. Active in all aspects of client service, Lauren specializes in advising the construction, real estate, manufacturing and professional service industries. Lauren is an active member of the Construction Financial Management Association and she also serves on the Construction Industry Committee of Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). Lauren is CCIFP (Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional) certified, a designation that formally recognizes an individual's level of knowledge and understanding of construction finance.
When Lauren is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Her competitive nature is the reason you'll often find her on the golf course perfecting her short game, hitting the ski slopes or testing out her sea legs on sailing excursions.
Stephanie graduated from West Chester University with a B.S. in Accounting. Upon graduation, Stephanie joined a mid-size accounting firm in Conshohocken, PA where she specialized in comprehensive tax, accounting and advisory services. Stephanie joined the team in October 2018 with a diversified range of experience providing tax and advisory services to a variety of business industries, as well as their owners, key executives, and high-net-worth individuals
Terri graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Terri has 17 years experience in public accounting and she specializes in financial reporting. Prior to joining GMS Surgent, Terri had 10 years of experience in corporate accounting as a controller for a publicly traded company.
