Alicia Schuyler Oberman

Alicia is the founder of Boardified. Alicia is a thought leader in board development and nonprofit management, utilizing her many years of experience in the sector and board service to partner with board members and boards on governance best practices. She currently serves on the Boards of Directors of, and in advisory capacities to, a number of nonprofit organizations, including: The Goldie Initiative, VIBE Israel USA, Leading Edge (Governance Committee), and the Melanoma Tissue Bank Consortium. From 2007-2019, Alicia served as the Executive Director of the Jack Miller Family Foundation (for which she remains a Board member and strategic lead in Jewish philanthropy) and its related philanthropic fund, the Jack and Goldie Wolfe Miller Fund. Alicia directed all of the foundation's programs and operations and served as the foundation's liaison to its nonprofit partners and the community. Alicia graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in English from Amherst College in 1999. She then received her JD from Northwestern University's School of Law in 2003.

Bethany Shiner

Bethany Shiner is President and Founder of Balashine Design, specializing in the design of tenant fit outs for commercial projects. In addition to serving on the Board of the Jack Miller Family Foundation, Bethany is a Board member of DreamMakerz Foundation, a family foundation based in the Chicagoland area, Moving Traditions movingtraditions.org, a non-profit organization for Jewish teens assisting them in their self-discovery through a Jewish lens, and the Early Childhood Learning Center of Adath Israel. Bethany's philanthropic focus is primarily in the areas of Jewish, Youth, Education, and Arts and Culture. She received her B.S. from Drexel University and her M.S. from Philadelphia University. Bethany lives with her husband and their two small children in the Philadelphia area.

Goldie Wolfe Miller

Nationally celebrated as a renowned deal maker, Goldie B. Wolfe Miller is known as one of the country's top commercial real estate brokers. In her 40-year, award-winning career, Ms. Wolfe Miller has completed approximately $3 billion in transactions, making her one of the country's most successful female real estate brokers, and also one of the industry's most sought-after professionals. In 1989, Goldie transitioned from her long-time association with real estate firm Arthur Rubloff and Company, to found a 20-member tenant representation firm. At that time, the company, Goldie B. Wolfe & Company, was reported to be the largest woman-owned commercial real estate firm in the country. In 1998, she sold her firm to the New York Stock Exchange - listed company, Insignia/ESG, Inc and the rest, as it is said, "is history." Ever active in the real estate industry, Goldie is the President of Millbrook Corporate Real Estate Services, a full-service consulting company specializing in the office and industrial marketplace. The Miller family developed Millbrook Business Center in Buffalo Grove and Lincolnshire, consisting of approximately 700,000 square feet of office and industrial space. Millbrook Properties owns a major 4- Building complex in Lisle, Illinois, Arboretum Lakes, consisting of 725,000 square feet of office space, a 200,000-plus square foot building along the Eden's corridor and another 200,000-plus square foot building in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As well-known as Goldie is to the world of real estate, she has another important identity as a strategic philanthropist. Although she has served on various boards throughout her career, including Urban Land Institute, she takes special pride serving as an officer and director of several family foundations. In 2007, she launched The Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate Initiative, The Goldie Initiative®, at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Its mission is to prepare women for senior leadership roles in all sectors of commercial real estate. The Goldie Initiative does this by providing scholarship support for graduate study, mentorship, and networking opportunities to women with high potential who are committed to becoming leaders in the real estate industry.

Jacob Millner

Job Titles:

Jacob Millner currently serves as the Executive Director for the Jack Miller Family Foundation and its related philanthropic fund, the Jack and Goldie Wolfe Miller Fund. In his role, Jacob works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure that the Foundation's programs and organizational activities are fully aligned with Jack Miller's mission, vision, and values. In addition, Jacob manages the Foundation's grant portfolio, serves as an active partner to sustain current programs and initiatives, recruits and develops team members, leads the Board of Directors in its governance function, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation Jacob served as National Liaison to Jewish Communal Organizations & Associate Director of Political Outreach, at the American Jewish Committee (AJC), senior policy analyst for The Israel Project, worked in government affairs for two Minnesota trade associations, and worked as a program director with the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas. Jacob graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a degree in history and political science and received a Master's of Public Policy (M.P.P) from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Jonathan Greenberg

Jonathan Greenberg is the Director of Freedom Initiatives at the Jack Miller Family Foundation, serving an organizing, communications, and advisory role for Mr. Miller's extensive philanthropic efforts. Jonathan is also a Senior Fellow with the Haym Salomon Center, a news and public policy group he co-founded in 2015 and previously served as Senior Vice President. A respected voice on foreign policy and Jewish issues, Jonathan's work has been carried in The Jerusalem Post, New York Daily News, New York Post, The Washington Times, The Hill, The New York Observer, The Daily Caller, and numerous other publications. Prior to co-founding the Salomon Center, Jonathan spent two years as a Vice President at the Illinois Policy Institute - one of the country's premier free-market think tanks - and more than five years at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, first in the Washington office and, later, as Midwest Political Director where he was responsible for 95 Congressional districts across nine states. Jonathan was ordained a rabbi at Hebrew Union College in 2006. During his rabbinic education, he lived in Jerusalem from 2001-2002 at the height of the Second Intifada. He has a master's degree in Public Affairs and a bachelor's degree in Political Science, both from Indiana University.

Judith Nan Joy

Katie Baron

Katie Baron joined the Jack Miller Family Foundation in 2014 as Senior Administrative Assistant and currently serves as Grants Associate. Katie is responsible for a combination of grants management as well as operational and program related duties, including pre- and post-award grants administration, grants database management, and Foundation administrative duties. Prior to joining the Foundation, Katie worked as the Development and Marketing Assistant of Our Children's Homestead, a foster care and adoption agency in Naperville, IL. Among her many responsibilities, Katie wrote grant proposals, arranged travel logistics for case workers, and assisted the Vice President of Development and Marketing with fundraisers, including a yearly gala and silent auction. Before working in the non-profit sector, Katie worked on both coasts in various legal departments and a family law office, as well as teaching in a variety of capacities. She holds a BA in English from Roberts Wesleyan College and an MA in English Literature from Bowling Green State University. Outside of Foundation work, Katie spends her time discovering new stories in a number of genres and formats, acting as a sous chef for her friends' culinary adventures, and enjoying her status as an auntie.

Steven B. Nasatir

  • Executive Vice Chairman of the Jewish United Fund / Jewish Federation of Chicago
Steve Nasatir serves as Executive Vice Chairman of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Chicago (JUF/Federation). He served as President of JUF/Federation from 1979-2019, guiding the community through four decades of tremendous change and challenge. Steve grew JUF/Federation into the hub of one of the largest humanitarian networks in the nation. During his tenure, JUF/Federation raised more than $8 billion to provide help, hope and healing to countless millions in need. He is a staunch Zionist and leading advocate for Israel and its people. Steve is also a visionary when it comes to engaging children and their parents in Jewish life. Prominent examples include large and successful projects such as the Day School Guaranty Trust, Right Start, and IsraelNow, which Steve helped conceive and launch. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he earned his master's from Roosevelt University and his doctorate from Northwestern University. He has taught or has been a visiting professor or lecturer at the University of Illinois, Chicago, Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies, University of Michigan, Brandeis University, George Williams College, and others. He repeatedly has been named to The Forward's 50 list of top Jewish leaders in the nation and to the Crain's "Who's Who in Chicago Business" listing. Roosevelt University honored him with its Franklin D. Roosevelt Humanitarian Award, and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago recognized him with its highest honor, the Julius Rosenwald Memorial Award. He serves or has served on the boards of the Jewish Agency for Israel, the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute in Jerusalem, the Covenant Foundation, United Way, Chicago and a number of family foundations. Steve has published numerous articles that have appeared in scholarly journals in the fields of Jewish Communal Studies and Education and in Jewish periodicals and general metropolitan and international newspapers and has appeared on numerous TV news and interview shows, (CBS, NBC, ABC, WTTW, WJUF, WGN, CNN) and radio news and talk shows.
