Alan Graham

Alan was a partner in Matheson (formerly Matheson Ormsby Prentice), Dublin, for over twenty years, and was the principal of AG Graham & Co Solicitors for a number of years prior to the firm merging into John O'Connor Solicitors LLP. Alan's main area of practice is Private Clients and Conveyancing. He has had considerable involvement in youth work over the years, in the Scout Association of Ireland (as National Secretary), National Youth Council of Ireland (as President) and the Youth Forum of the European Union (as President). He has been on the board of the National Children's Hospital and the National Gallery of Ireland. He is currently a Trustee of the Kildare Street and University Club, a member of the Board of Saint Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin and the board of the Royal Irish Automobile Club

Anthony Gore-Grimes

Anthony Gore-Grimes has over 50 years of service as a solicitor and was Managing Partner of Gore & Grimes Solicitors LLP for more than 30 years. He specialised in all aspects of Corporate & Commercial law and particularly in the area of mergers & acquisitions and shareholder actions. He continues to act as a Consultant to the Firm. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1961 and qualified as a solicitor in 1962.

Brian O'Neill - CEO

Brian is Managing Partner of the firm and head of our Corporate & Commercial team. Brian advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions including buying and selling businesses, Mergers & Acquisitions, restructuring businesses, asset and share sales and purchases and joint ventures. Brian advises start-up and emerging growth companies on investment agreements with angel investors, venture capital investors and Enterprise Ireland investment agreements, loan notes, shareholders' agreements and commercial contracts. He also advises on banking, corporate restructuring, insolvency, business structure and formation and corporate governance. Brian advises the firm's institutional and private clients on various elements of their commercial requirements. His expertise and experience includes advising both companies and investors on fund raisings, exits, management buyouts. He is involved daily in reviewing, drafting and negotiating trading terms and conditions, general contracts, share ownership schemes, shareholders' agreements, partnership and joint venture agreements. Brian also has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting banking and security documentation on behalf of financial institutions and for private clients, as well as advising financial institutions on options for restructuring, enforcement and recovery. Brian acts for one of the pillar banks and for a number of alternate lenders. Brian is a member of INSOL Europe and the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners (ISIP) and has wide-ranging specialist experience in the legal aspects of corporate and insolvency issues. He has advised insolvency professionals in a number of liquidations, receiverships, examinerships and more recently in SCARP rescues. Brian is also a member of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.

David Martin

David is a Partner in the Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Employment departments. He has been a Partner since 1984 and his practice focuses on Commercial Banking and Civil Litigation. David acts for a number of institutional and private clients and his experience extends to handling claims in the Commercial Court both on behalf of Plaintiffs and Defendants. He also advises a number of sports bodies in respect of Irish law. David has lectured and tutored trainee Solicitors at the Law Society and has given lectures at Dublin Solicitors Bar Association seminars. He is currently a member of the World Rugby Judicial disciplinary panel, is former president of the Dublin Solicitor Bar Association and has chaired the Litigation Committee of the Law Society.

Dougie Heather

Dougie joined Gore & Grimes Solicitors LLP in June 2012. Before this, he co-founded the firm of Lennon Heather Solicitors, where he was involved for a period of 30 years, spending some 25 of those years as Managing Partner. Since joining Gore & Grimes Solicitors LLP, he continues to operate in the fields of corporate and commercial law, incorporating mergers, acquisitions, fund raising and other corporate finance type transactions in addition to specialising in banking and property transactions and receiverships, liquidations and insolvencies generally, including examinerships and personal insolvency. Throughout his career, Dougie has specialised in high level corporate and commercial law, commercial property and commercial banking and security transactions. He has acted for a number of very significant and well known developers and businesses, both privately owned and publicly listed. In addition he has acted for all of the major banks in Ireland. Dougie served as a Board Director of International Sports Management Limited for a period of 10 years and was chairman of the Board for five years. Dougie is a trustee of and runs the Darren Clarke Foundation and is a member of the Golf Digest Course Ratings Panel.

Eilish McPhillips

Emmet Martin

Emmet is a solicitor in our Corporate & Commercial and Corporate Restructuring & Insolvency having completed his traineeship with Gore & Grimes Solicitors LLP. He has experience in advising clients on a wide range of commercial and corporate advisory work and has advised across a broad range of corporate activities including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, joint ventures and shareholder matters. Emmet has experience in acting for both financial institutions and corporate clients in the Circuit Court, High Court, to include Commercial Court, and Court of Appeal. He regularly deals with all aspects of insolvency and corporate restructuring and frequently acts for and advises Examiners, Liquidators and Receivers in a range of matters. He has benefited from a six month secondment with a leading multinational Insurance company. This experience gained him responsibility for the management of the financial lines claims portfolio including professional liability, director and officer and employment practice liability claims.

Harry Caulfield

Harry is a Senior Associate in the Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution department. Harry has considerable expertise in acting for various leading professional indemnity insurers in professional negligence claims brought against a variety of professionals including solicitors, accountants, financial advisors, architects, quantity surveyors and builders. He has extensive experience in the areas of construction and property related disputes, Landlord and Tenant disputes, and High Court commercial litigation, with a particular focus on shareholder disputes. In this regard, Harry also has invaluable experience in running High Court commercial cases virtually using online platforms approved by the Courts. He has advised a variety of clients on both contentious and non-contentious property related issues such as dilapidations claims, exercising break option clauses, and damages for breach of contract, as well as advising clients on how to approach rent and service charge arrears and the recovery of same. Harry also advises clients on the intricacies of various alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as mediation, conciliation, arbitration and expert determination. Harry has a keen focus on providing practical and tailored advice in order to identify highest quality solutions for his clients and he has a history of achieving excellent outcomes to the satisfaction of his clients. Harry joined Gore & Grimes Solicitors LLP in 2021 from an international law firm.

Hollie Kearns

Jack Keogh

Jack is an associate in our Real Estate department, advising clients in residential, commercial and leasing transactions and also financial institutions in property matters. Jack also has experience in mergers, acquisitions, fund raising and other finance type transactions. Jack has worked in Gore & Grimes Solicitors LLP since 2016, having trained and completed his Indentures of Apprenticeship with the firm. Jack studied Law with Economics in UCD, graduating in 2016, and qualified as a solicitor in November 2020. He completed a Diploma in Sports Law with the Law Society of Ireland in March 2021.

Keith McConnell

Keith is a Partner and Head of the firm's Real Estate department. He advises clients on all types of real estate financing, sales, purchases and portfolio management, with a particular focus on commercial and residential developments. He has advised on some of the largest real estate transactions, including portfolio sales, and advises some of the most prominent developers in the country. His practice includes the setting up of substantial development schemes, management structures and dealing with issues regarding rights of access and easements, as well as landlord and tenant issues arising. Keith has advised on complicated issues relating to infrastructural works, has been involved in dealing with local authorities and other statutory bodies in respect of easements for essential services (such as gas, electricity and other public services), including advising on compulsory acquisitions and the taking in charge of services, roads and footpaths by the Local Authority. Keith has also advised in relation to all property matters arising in connection with various energy projects, including power stations and wind farms and the financing of such projects. Keith joined Gore & Grimes Solicitors LLP from a top five firm in 2016. He is a member of the Law Society of Ireland and is a tutor on the Commercial Property course for the Law Society. He is also a CEDR Accredited Mediator and currently Vice Chair of the Law Society Conveyancing Committee.

Liam Collins

Liam is a Partner in the Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Employment departments. He has extensive experience in all areas of commercial litigation including the defence of professional negligence and defamation proceedings, high value contractual, tortious and property disputes, arbitrations and mediations. Liam acts for insurers and respondents in the defence of claims of professional negligence, whether in court proceedings, mediations or investigations before the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman, to include Judicial Review proceedings. Liam also acts for and against professionals in the construction industry and their insurers, in disputes over land, claims for breach of contract and professional indemnity claims. He has acted for clients in the print media and online, together with corporate and private clients in the defence of defamation actions. Liam advises corporate clients, insurers and private clients in employer's liability and employment practice related claims. Liam is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has lectured and been published on the various aspects of litigation management. He is on the Law Society of Ireland panel of tutors. He is also a member of The Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners in Ireland (ISIP).

Mary Casey

Mary is a consultant practicing in the Private Client and Real Estate Departments. She brings a broad range of experience in all areas encompassing private client practice, advising across the field of succession planning and the structuring of personal affairs to the drafting of wills, including will trusts and the extraction of grants of probate. She also has considerable experience in the area of drafting powers of attorney, including enduring powers of attorney. Mary is also experienced in dealing with all aspects of conveyancing, with particular emphasis on the perfection of complex titles. Prior to joining Gore & Grimes Solicitors LLP in 2022, Mary was a consultant in a mid-tier commercial firm for five years and prior to that she was both consultant and a partner in a niche Dublin property firm, where she maintained a busy corporate and private client practice in the real estate, will and probate spheres. Mary graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a B.A. (Mod.) in Legal Science in 1986. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1990 and was also admitted in Northern Ireland in 2006.

Mary Hayes

Mary is one of the leading Family Law experts in the country. She has practiced in the area of Family Law for over 25 years, developing the department in Gore & Grimes Solicitors LLP from inception. Over the years Family Law has expanded and in particular, during the recession years Mary acquired an extensive knowledge in both banking and bankruptcy law, extending her commercial knowledge in particular with a view to matrimonial cases. She has extensive experience and expertise in the Circuit Court and High Court and has taken some cases through the High Court process and to the Supreme Court, without the assistance of Counsel. She has achieved this expertise with the knowledge that where possible, all matters should be negotiated and agreed, especially where children are involved. Mary is a trained Mediator. She has lectured, written articles and been a contributor to radio & press on Family Law.

Niamh Walsh

Niamh is a partner in the family law department. Niamh has extensive experience in the complex and highly sensitive area of family law having practiced it for many years in another leading specialist family law firm prior to joining Gore & Grimes. Niamh has been involved in a number of Irelands leading family law cases. Niamh has an extensive client base and covers all aspects of family law cases from the District Court to the Court of Appeal. She has advised clients in relation to all aspect of family law to include Judicial Separation and Divorce cases, Pre-nuptial agreements, matters concerning custody and access, non-marital relationship breakdown and cohabitation, relocation proceedings, pensions in the context of separation and divorce, nullity proceedings and lawyer assisted Mediations Niamh is particularly skilled in negotiating agreements relating to all financial, property and childcare issues in separation and divorce. Robert Simmons

Robert also has considerable experience in secured lending transactions having acted for some of Ireland's pillar banks and various regulated financial institutions advising on all aspects from investigation of title, reporting on title and title remediation to the registration of title and security. Before joining the firm, Robert worked for a number of years in a Tier 1 firm as well as an inhouse advisor in a leading lending institution. He has also acted for a wide range of public, private and institutional bodies, lending institutions, commercial landlords and tenants, and for private clients in residential property transactions.

Sally Alford

Treasa Minihane

She acts for a well-known developer in the setup of mixed-use residential schemes, as well as the subsequent disposals to purchasers and deals with local authorities, and other public bodies putting in place the necessary easements for access to public services. She acts for several charities and semi state bodies in the acquisition, disposal and leasing of commercial properties and has experience in advising financial institutions on property matters, title remediation and security. Treasa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Limerick and is a member of the Law Society of Ireland.
