I have a child currently in key stage 2 and another who has moved on to the next stage of their academic life. As a parent governor for the past 5 years, I chose to join the Finance and Premises and the Personnel sub committees. With my professional background in the private sector relating to Agriculture, I have experience with finance and people. Tailoring this with my continuing interest in pupil development at the school, helps me to complement a very proactive board of governors.
I am also part of a small sub group looking at the Headteachers' performance, this I feel is vital for any school governing body. As with their staff, a Headteacher must always be challenged and motivated to look for improvements and the development of their pupils.
I have been a governor for ten years, initially as a parent governor when my children were at Green Lane CE Primary School, and now as a co-opted governor. I am a member of the Curriculum Committee and High Force Education SCITT Management Group. My children attended Teesdale School, where I was also a parent governor for a time, before going to university. I taught science in secondary schools for 37 years, two years in Africa, and over a third of which was in a variety of schools in the North East. At present I keep in touch with education by marking GCSE and A level exam papers.

I have been teaching since 2002 and came into the profession after working with families who care for someone who is disabled. I believe very strongly that we should help all children have the best possible start in life so that they can access all of the opportunities our society has to offer. As Headteacher I shall work tirelessly to see that the children from our school can enjoy life in all its fullness!

I have been a teacher at Green Lane Church of England Primary School for over 25 years during which time my daughter attended Green Lane.
During my career at Green Lane I have taught classes across all Key Stages, been an NQT mentor and a school-based mentor for High Force Education SCITT (School Centered Initial Teacher Training). I am subject lead for RE, part of the Big Story team and Christian Ethos Committee.

Mrs Helen Stannard is our designated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)
I was appointed a Foundation governor by the Diocese on 27 th September 2016.
I am a retired physiotherapist and lived in Southern Africa for the past forty years. Walking into the school foyer and seeing the familiar colours of the Zimbabwean flag was a great welcome.
As a committed Christian, I am becoming involved in the" Big Story " and other projects that encourage children to explore faith.
