Emery is our Human Resources director. She spends most of her time acting as Jack's computer warmer. In her downtime, she enjoys napping in sunbeams and cuddling with her dad.

Biography
Jack started the firm in 1988 in High Point, concentrating in the areas of taxation, tax planning, strategic business planning, entrepreneurial business consulting, mergers and acquisitions, IRS audit representation, and estate, trust, and gift planning.
With over 30 years of experience, Jack has diverse knowledge, which allows him to provide strategic advice not only to maintain tax compliance but also to meet the financial goals of his clients.

Biography
Karen joined our firm in 2019 and quickly moved from a clerical position into full-time bookkeeping. She completes many bookkeeping services for our clients, including general bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and various required state and local tax reports. She graduated from Guilford College in 2015 with a BS in Accounting and is also a notary.

Kevin joined our firm in 2010 after graduating from Greensboro College with a BS in Accounting. He works on a variety of engagements, including business year-ends, individual returns, and various bookkeeping projects. Kevin lives in Randolph County with his wife and son.

Biography
Michael serves a variety of business and individual clients. He has extensive experience in taxation, financial reporting, business planning, and auditing. Clients use Michael's general business knowledge to assist them with tax and strategic business planning issues. He is also interested in assisting nonprofit organizations to establish the policies and procedures expected of them by the IRS and governmental funders. Michael served for several years as CFO for a large nonprofit receiving government funding.
Michael is a member of the North Carolina Association of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He graduated cum laude from High Point University with majors in accounting and business. He served as chairman of his church's finance committee and has served on the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He resides in Kernersville with his wife and two sons.

Renee has broad experience in the tax, accounting, and attest services areas and works with a variety of clients, including commercial enterprises, not-for-profit organizations, and related individual clients. She works with consumer products/wholesalers, distributors, and retail entities, as well as manufacturing and construction contractors. Renee's accumulated experience incorporates a broad range of issues in individual and business taxation and accounting, ranging from strategic tax planning and diverse tax compliance to financial accounting and consulting services.
Renee graduated cum laude from High Point University with a major in accounting and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the NC Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Renee is an experienced accountant who joined the firm in 2006. She assists many clients with posting their books and records and creating financial statements. Renee is a Quickbooks™️ ProAdvisor, and she often assists clients in their offices by setting up their accounting systems and payroll. Renee is also a notary, and she lives in Thomasville with her family.

Sarah (Takako) joined our firm in 2017. She works on a variety of individual tax returns and performs multiple accounting services, including assimilating data in Excel, completing bank and credit card reconciliations, and general bookkeeping. Sarah is from Japan and first came to the US as a Japanese teacher after graduating from Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan. Additionally, she holds a Master's in Education from ECU, as well as a BS and Master's in Accounting from UNCG.

Sheila Gause joined our firm in 2020 after serving in the healthcare industry for many years. She brings with her a wealth of customer service skills and managerial experience and is familiar with all aspects of firm administration. Sheila runs our front desk and performs many duties, including greeting and assisting clients, answering phone calls, taking messages, file maintenance, and mailings. She also assists with tax return preparation and processing, routing client information, and general administrative support. Sheila lives in the local area with her husband.

Tawana is a CPA in our High Point office. She supervises the accounting services work, including financial statement preparation and payroll processing and compliance. Tawana is also in charge of a wide variety of business year-end engagements as well as individual tax returns. She joined the firm in 1998 and graduated from UNCG with a BS in Accounting. She earned her Master's in Accounting from UNCG in 2012 and received her CPA license in 2016. Tawana is also a member of the NCACPA.
