Charles Miller - Chairman

Charles is an experienced business executive having been responsible for the Asia Pacific region of a global multi-national group and having managed leading NZ companies in the chemical and logistics sectors. In addition, Charles was co-owner of three Driving Miss Daisy franchises providing independence and mobility to the East Auckland community. Charles was Chair of the Sowers Trust for four years and is a local Rotarian. He was a member of the establishment committee of the Virtual Village East.

Dr Scott McLaren

Scott is a self-employed General Practitioner working in the Auckland area. He has been practicing medical care for the past 20 years. He is also a Trustee on the Butland Trust; a charity focused on children's health, as well as a trust focused on excellence in health education at Auckland University. He has spent 40 years growing up in Howick area. He attends the local Eastview Baptist church with his family.

Elizabeth Tremlett

A member of the HBH Group board since 2012, Elizabeth is a self-employed Chartered Accountant with extensive experience working with not-for-profit organisations, primary schools and small businesses. Having lived in Howick all her life as a parent of four sons, Elizabeth has been involved in the local community through schools, sports and church. She has also served on the Board of Presbyterian Support Northern for over ten years.

Graeme Owen

In addition to his role on the HBH Group Board, Graeme has been a consultant in his own business since 2006. He was previously a lecturer and director of Internship Programmes at Laidlaw College and has also held roles as pastor at a number of churches. Graeme is married with four adult children.

Hilda Johnson

Hilda joined HBH in May 2023 and is responsible for people and culture, community programmes, allied health services and spiritual care. A Registered Nurse with over 20 years of aged care and governance experience, she has held leadership positions at executive level. Hilda is also an Internal Clinical Aged Care Advisor for the Health & Disability Commissioner, and the Convenor of the NZCCSS Older People Policy Group. She is passionate about employee development, and the Eden Alternative and spirituality as an integral part of ageing well.

Jasper Young

Jasper joined HBH in 2022 and is responsible for the development of the clinical and community services offered by HBH Senior Living. A registered nurse, his role is focused on quality improvement initiatives, risk management and staff development. Jasper has worked in the aged care sector for over 10 years. During this time he has held roles in operations management, service quality and service delivery.

Juliette Tuckey - CEO

Juliette has worked for over 20 years in general management and CEO roles in the hospitality and aged care sectors. As one of New Zealand's leading Eden Alternative advisors and trainers, Juliette is passionate about creating care environments that empower and encourage growth, meaning and connection for all, and leading our teams to provide sustainable and innovative care services.

Kate Donley

Kate is an experienced General Manager with a background in operational management across the service industry. Kate began her career in the corporate world but now commits her commercial skills and experience for social good, with a special interest in social housing for vulnerable people. Kate grew up in the Howick area and is married with two children.

Keith Ardern

Keith is a Chartered Accountant with experience in public practice and the corporate sector. He currently works as Trust Accountant for a solicitor and contracts to the Interchurch Council for Hospital Chaplaincy. Throughout his career he has served on a variety of boards including Aged Concern, Rotary and a community retirement village where he served as a board member for 29 years. In 2010 Keith became a Justice of the Peace. He is married with two children, seven grandchildren and is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Matt Aitken

Matt joined HBH in 2021 after 20+ years of management experience in logistics, operational, procurement and property maintenance. At HBH, he is responsible for overseeing the design and strategy of procurement and property, ensuring efficient and effective planning to meet the needs of our residents. A Howick local all of his life, Matt and his wife have raised their family here too. A problem solver who enjoys challenges and likes to get ‘stuck in', Matt is always keen for a chat with residents, believing that ‘we work in their home'.

Mrs Dunbar, Howick

HBH Howick Views is a fully registered Eden Alternative facility, a resident-centred care philosophy - and our other aged care villages are working towards this.

Sachin Adkar

Job Titles:

Sachin has been HBH Senior Living's accountant for over ten years, during which time he has gained significant experience of the aged care industry. In all, Sachin has 26 years' of experience in accounting, management reporting, audit and payroll. He also brings his IT skills and knowledge which is useful in the selection and implementation of HBH Senior Living's software systems.

Stephen Parker

Stephen brings a wealth of experience from his 38-year tenure with a multinational corporation, culminating in a decade-long leadership role as GM/Director for the New Zealand business until 2014. Embracing retirement at 60, he has dedicated himself to impactful service in the non-profit sector, notably as a Trustee with VisionWest for 12 years and with Community Waitakere since 2010. A devoted member of Glen Eden Baptist, Stephen resides with his wife on a picturesque lifestyle block in Oratia.
