SRP, or Score Raising Programs, was established in Princeton, in the summer of 1998. Its founders were Doug and Greg Myers, who realized that SAT review classes were having their students memorize many formulas for the test. They saw the opportunity to build these formulas into calculator programs which could be used during the SAT instead of forcing memorization of them. SRP began in 1998 as a 5 program set, but it has evolved, and today contains 22 individual program files, which branch out from 9 core program files. SRP has also recently introduced verbal virtual flashcards, to assist students in the one part of the test where memorization is necessary.
