As an academic and author, Harlan has lectured at universities and professional seminars. Harlan has travelled extensively and lived and worked in numerous states and countries. He is fluent in Spanish, an experienced sailor, open water diver, a black belt in tae kwon do and has practiced yoga for many years. He now lives and practices architecture and organic gardening in Austin, Texas.
