David Ward was born on September 25, 1940 in Norfolk, Virginia. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 as a Russian linguist in the Security Service Command following a course of study at Syracuse University. He completed his undergraduate education in 1967 from the University of South Carolina and obtained a law degree from South Carolina School of law in 1970. Mr. Ward has received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is licensed to practice in South Carolina before the South Carolina Supreme Court and all state courts, United States District Court, and Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Virginia. David Ward enjoys working with the Horton Law Firm, and continues an active practice in all areas, with special attention to problem solving and dispute resolution.

Jeremy R. Summerlin joined the Horton Law Firm in 2016 as an employment lawyer and civil litigator before becoming a shareholder in 2018. Prior to that, he spent several years at the Law Office of W. Andrew Arnold, P.C., representing employees and small business in a variety of employment and business litigation matters. As a Trial Lawyer with the Horton Law Firm, he continues to represent employees and business in legal disputes. He takes pride in empowering workers who were wrongly terminated, harassed, or experienced discrimination on the basis of age, race, pregnancy, disability, medical condition, or religious bias. Mr. Summerlin also represents executives and employees in all non-compete and employment litigation. This includes claims involving whistleblowing retaliation, severance agreements, employment contracts, wage theft, unpaid overtime and minimum wage violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and sick leave under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

JOHN L. B. KEHL was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. After graduating from Christ Church Episcopal School, John attended the University of South Carolina, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, and later, his Juris Doctor. Admitted to practice law in 1999, John's broad foundation of experience includes real estate transactions, probate administration, trusts and estates, contract and lease drafting and negotiations, collection and foreclosure matters, business, commercial, real estate, and banking litigation. During his career, John has represented residential and commercial developers, homeowner's associations, non-profit conservation organizations, local housing authorities, and has provided outside general counsel services for local banks, as well as residential and commercial real estate developers. This deep and diverse experience has afforded John invaluable perspective on a variety of legal matters and informs his practical approach to advising and problem-solving for his clients. John now focuses his practice primarily on residential and commercial real estate transactions, and other real estate related matters, as well as corporate formations and transactions. In his spare time, John enjoys great restaurants, seeing live music, whitewater kayaking, snow skiing, hunting, and fishing.
