C. Timothy Hopkins - Founder

Tim is the senior partner and founder of Hopkins Roden Crockett Hansen & Hoopes. He has been engaged as an advocate in some of Idaho's most prominent public law cases involving issues such as separation of powers, legislative redistricting, professional responsibility and land use. He has a wide ranging civil litigation practice for both individuals and corporations and also maintains a significant transactional practice. Currently, a considerable portion of his practice is devoted to issues involving land use and real estate. Tim is a native Idahoan, and he and his wife are the parents of three children. His avocational interests have much to do with his love for Idaho and the outdoors. He is a horseman, an avid hunter and fly fisherman, and enjoys both downhill and cross-country skiing. Gregory L. Crockett - CEO

Greg Crockett is the managing partner of the firm. He is a consummate problem solver, negotiator and litigator. His extensive litigation experience includes personal injury, commercial and contract disputes, landlord/tenant, representation of shareholders and LLC members. He has and continues to represent local and regional clients engaged in banking, real estate development, public health, environmental disputes, corporate dissolution and farming. Jed Bigelow

Jed joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2018 and is now a partner. His practice includes both litigation and transactional work, focusing on business law, contracts, estate planning, real property, general litigation, and criminal defense. Prior to joining the practice, he served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Canyon County, Idaho and then as an Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Territory of American Samoa. In these capacities he gained substantial courtroom and trial experience in both criminal and civil matters. Jed was born in Mount Vernon, Washington and grew up in Rigby, Idaho. He is a 2005 Rigby High School graduate. Jed served as a missionary in Fukuoka, Japan for two years. He attended Utah State University and earned a B.A. in Political Science. After his undergraduate studies, he worked in Washington D.C. for Senator Crapo as a part of his legislative staff. Jed attended BYU's J. Rueben Clark Law School and graduated in December 2013. During his time in law school, he served as a judicial extern for Judge N. Randy Smith of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Judge Dale A. Kimball of the United States District Court in Utah. Jed is the proud father of three children, Reagan, Abigail, and Remington. They enjoy the outdoors, traveling, and going on adventures. John Michael Brassey

Mike is a prominent advisor to businesses and the Legislature on general business, finance and insurance issues. He has been the author or coauthor of much of virtually all of the more complex and sophisticated securities, insurance and finance related legislation considered by the Legislature for the last 30 years. As one of Idaho's Uniform Laws Commissioners he is active in advancing uniformity in the treatment of interstate business operations. Mike is a lifelong resident of Idaho and a graduate of the University of Idaho with degrees in Business and Law. He has served in a number of appointed Idaho state government positions since his admission to the bar and has worked with the Legislature and administrative agencies since 1971. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Idaho Personnel Commission and as a Commissioner on Uniform Laws. Mike has served as Director of the Idaho Department of Insurance, Deputy Director of the Idaho Department of Finance, the Division Chief of the Attorney General's Business Regulation Division and as the Administrator of the Division of Financial Management. He is also a past Chairman of the Business and Corporate Law Section of the Idaho State Bar Association and has served as Chairman of the Legislative and Mergers and Acquisitions Committees. Mike is an avid golfer, bird hunter and fly fisherman and he and his wife Wilma enjoy their summer and winter activities at their cabin and ranch.

Kim Reeves

Kim joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2018. Her practice includes transactional work focusing on business formations, corporate governance, contracts, real estate, and other commercial law areas as well as acting as legal counsel and consultant for local firms. She also likes to help clients with their estate and succession planning needs. Kim likes to approach her clients' needs from a wholistic position-looking for current and future needs and ensuring personal and commercial documents are drafted to maximize benefits while avoiding future conflicts. Before joining the firm, Kim owned and operated a small manufacturing business and worked as a designer and business consultant for over 15 years. Kim holds a law degree with a certificate in Business Law from the University of Utah, an MBA from Weber State University (emphasis in entrepreneurship), and undergraduate degrees in History and Hebrew from the University of Utah. Kim relocated from Utah to Idaho with her husband and five children. She enjoys skiing, hiking, white water rafting, traveling, and basically anything that involves being with her family. Associate Kim Reeves has a knowledgeable pragmatic, practical view of legal standing. She has approached my personal and company's needs with optimism, laced with reality. Her MBA and business background affords me a combination of. business savvy as well as competence in document review and drafting. Kim is extremely knowledgeable about intricacies related to starting up my business. She spent the time to walk me through what I needed to do, what she could do, and what the outcomes would be. Lary S. Larson

Lary is a partner in the firm and began his practice in 1980. He maintains a substantial transactional practice, principally involving small business ventures, estate planning, probate, commercial transactions, real estate transactions, taxation and employment. Lary was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended the University of North Carolina as a Morehead Scholar where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics in 1975. After college, he served as a missionary in Helsinki, Finland for two years. In 1980 he received his law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University, with honors. Lary and his wife, Louise, raised seven children on a small working farm near Ucon, Idaho. Louise teaches fourth-graders at the Taylor's Crossing Charter School. She and Lary are actively involved in Scouting, sports, charitable and religious activities, and traveling to visit children and grandchildren. Lary also enjoys backpacking, fly fishing, sports, astronomy, and Mormon religious history, and is the occasional collector of books, coins, rocks and astro-photography. Paul Rippel is a Partner in the firm and began his practice in 1982. Paul was born in Borger, Texas, but moved to Idaho Falls as a small child. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1971. He attended Idaho State University and then the University of Idaho, earning a bachelor's degree in Rangeland Management from the College of Forestry. He also received a Master's Degree in Range Science from New Mexico State University, but then changed course and returned to the University of Idaho for his law degree in 1981. After law school, Paul clerked for the Honorable Arnold T. Beebe, who impressed upon him the importance of legal scholarship. Paul and his wife, Alexis, have two grown children, a son and a daughter. They enjoy sports events and outdoor activities, including trailer camping in their 1965 Oasis. Steve is a partner who began his practice in 1985. Steve was born in Boise, Idaho and grew up in Idaho Falls. He received a B.S. Degree from the University of Idaho College of Forestry and his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1985, with honors. Steve is married to Virginia Ann Gale of Moscow, Idaho and they have two children, Nathan and Jessica. He is a former long-time river guide on Middle Fork of the Salmon River in the heart of central Idaho's wilderness, and loves the Idaho outdoors, fly-fishing, hunting, camping and river rafting. Tracy Gorman

Tracy was born in Seattle, Washington in 1963. After receiving her bachelor's degree in nursing in 1986, Tracy was commissioned into the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. As a nurse, Tracy specialized in the area of critical care. She served five years on active duty and was honorably discharged in 1991 with the rank of Captain. While continuing to work as a registered nurse, Tracy attended law school at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She graduated law school in 1996 and became a member of the Maryland State Bar in 1997. Tracy relocated to Idaho Falls, Idaho with her family in the summer of 2002. She became a member of the Idaho State Bar in 2007 and joined Gaffney Law Office in the spring of 2008 as an associate. While at Gaffney law Tracy concentrated on family law at the trial and appellate levels. After leaving Gaffney Law Office in October 2015, Tracy started her own firm, Gorman Law Office in November 2015. Tracy became a part of Hopkins Roden Crockett Hansen and Hoopes in April 2016. William C. Roden

Biography Bill joined the firm as a partner in 1994, and transitioned to an of counsel role in 2006. He enjoyed an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and limited his work to governmental relations on behalf of national, regional and local clients. Bill combined an active law practice with his work on behalf of diverse national and state clients concerning major legislative and administrative matters before the Idaho legislature and local and state administrative agencies for most of his career. His role was not only as a legislative and public affairs advisor to his clients, but as the primary draftsman of significant and complex legislation, including the Idaho Telecommunications Act of 1988, which achieved substantial regulatory reform for the telecommunications industry in Idaho. William C. Roden retired from Hopkins Roden on July 31st, 2018 Bill has been called "a dean among Idaho lobbyists," and since 1992, the biennial editions of The Idaho Political Almanac have ranked and reported that he "routinely ranks first in surveys of legislators asked who is the most influential lobbyist at the Statehouse." The 2000 Idaho Yearbook Directory, published by Ridenbaugh Press and edited by Randy Stapilus, which admits that its list of Idaho's Influential 100 Idahoans is "an unscientific, thoroughly subjective list, with some claim to reasonable, ballpark validity" listed Bill in the top 25 of that group for the third year in a row and stated that he was "widely regarded as the single most effective lobbyist in Boise." Bill is a lifelong resident of Idaho, and a graduate of the University of Idaho, where he received degrees in political science and law. Following his admission to practice law in Idaho, he served as Special Agent, Counter-Intelligence Corps, United States Army for two years. Upon returning to Idaho, he served one year as an Ada County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, and two years as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Idaho, where he was counsel for the Department of Law Enforcement, the Department of Finance, and the Public Utilities Commission. In 1958, he was elected to the office of Prosecuting Attorney for Ada County. He entered the private practice of law in 1960, and was also elected to the Idaho Senate, representing Ada County, Idaho. He served four terms in the Senate, during which time he also served as Assistant Majority Leader and as Senate Majority Leader. He is active in a number of civic organizations, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Idaho Historical Museum, Buy Idaho, Inc., and the Idaho Tax Foundation. Bill and his wife Betty are the parents of two children. They share a love of the outdoors with most Idahoans, and especially enjoy the beautiful mountain and outdoor activities at their summer home on Payette Lake.
