Catherine is a Registered Landscape Architect on the HC team and contributes a strong background in residential landscape design, site planning, permitting, and construction management. With a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, and as a long-standing member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Catherine brings 20 years' experience as a landscape architect at Pressley Associates, Inc., a landscape architecture and land planning firm in Cambridge, MA, to the team.
Since joining HC in 2010, she has produced stunning residential designs. She thrives on creativity and challenging design projects, solving site-planning, and grading issues, producing innovative deck and patio design, and lavish perennial gardens.
Mike Walsh, principal and owner of Horticultural Concepts, is a team builder and leading authority in residential landscape and architectural design. He has built over $30 million of residential landscape and home improvements, large and small, since 1982 for hundreds of couples. He and his team's exquisite landscape designs have been featured several times on HGTV and in upscale magazines. He has lectured for hundreds of garden clubs and conservation groups, municipal officials, hosted radio programs and consulted with the State of Massachusetts on designs for low maintenance and water conservation.
Mike is a natural teacher and leader and loves helping people if he can, even if it means just giving them the right referral. He knows every project and couple is unique. After your first consultation, Mike personally guides the process with as much (or as little) client input as desired through to a successful conclusion.
