Corey Fernandez

Corey Fernandez helps leaders and teams navigate change successfully and achieve meaningful results. Corey has guided over 1000 leaders and many of their teams throughout his 20-year career. For half of his career, Corey led complex consulting engagements within Fortune 500 companies. His work spotlighted managers as the difference makers of their organizations and equipped them to become accelerants for strategic change. Today, Corey's a passionate leadership coach who loves to partner with executives who oversee strategic changes and the supporting casts of leaders tasked with execution. Corey builds one-on-one coaching relationships with executives and leads monthly group coaching forums for mid-level leaders from Michigan and beyond. By staying connected to leaders with varying depths of experiences, he ensures his coaching and training techniques evolve and appeal to all generations of leaders. He's most recently become an expert at delivering training, coaching and facilitation experiences via virtual delivery. Between small teams and large groups over 100, Corey prioritizes and grows connections between leaders that foster learning and growth. Corey and his wife Jessica are raising two young children. Thus, he values his life's work more than ever. He finds purpose in helping leaders transform their lives so they can transform their organizations. In many ways, these organizations make his family's communities better places to live, learn and give back. Corey holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Studies from the University of Michigan. He's also a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) having completed an 80-day sea kayaking and mountaineering expedition in Chilean Patagonia.

David Wheatley

David works with leaders who are engaged in transitions to new roles or new scope or need improved results. An expert facilitator, trainer and coach, David has worked for over twenty years with government, manufacturing, healthcare, law enforcement, technology and financial institutions. Originally from Leeds, England, David is a former Scotland Yard police officer. He is a graduate of Hendon Police Academy in London and an honors graduate of Lancaster University's education program. He earned a master's degree in organizational management and has been a Senior Fellow at the University of Maryland and an Instructor at Michigan State University. David has twice delivered at the International Leadership Association conference. He is co-author of 50 DOs for Everyday Leadership Lessons Learned the Hard Way (So You Don't Have To), now in its second edition, and What Great Teams Do Great: How Ordinary People Accomplish the Extraordinary. In his spare time, David plays soccer and the guitar, both badly, in his opinion. He lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan with Launda and whichever of their four adult children happen by. In 2015 they completed an Atlantic crossing on a 39-foot sailboat, with the help of two fellow sailors, and look forward to more adventures at sea.

Jim Marshall

Jim is a leadership coach who partners with individuals and teams to bring about transformation. He has partnered with people and organizations all over the world, in various industries and from the Boardroom to the plant floor. He works hard to listen, observe, understand, and build connections with colleagues and clients. He consistently asks what impact we're aiming for, always focusing on the greater good. Jim has led or facilitated a variety of transformations. He has worked one-on-one with struggling executives to create clarity of purpose, solve challenging people dynamics, and improve results. As a CHRO, he led the organization to achieve certification as a Fortune Best Workplace while navigating complex issues such as acquisition or the Pandemic. He is experienced in navigating conversations around strategy, competitive advantage, culture and engagement, acquisition, operational effectiveness, Board governance, and individual/team turnarounds. Jim has held many roles throughout his career from VP of Operations to CHRO and from Leadership Coach/Consultant to Campus Minister. During that time, he has had the privilege of working with excellent leaders and honing the skills and principles required to create success. Former colleagues and clients like to joke that he can't leave a conversation without drawing something somewhere. Jim has a degree in business from Western Michigan University. He is a certified coach, a certified facilitator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and a certified Peer-Coaching Circles Guide. Outside work, he is the father of three adult daughters. You can find him outdoors on a road or trail running, hiking or skiing. He loves to spend time in and around the water where you're likely to find him quoting, "Good friends plus good food equals good times." Two of his most cherished principles are to never give up and never stop learning.

John Barrett

As a veteran coach, facilitator and trainer, John has worked for thirty years with leaders and teams in a variety of industries in the United States and abroad. Much of John's work has been with clients in the automotive and packaged goods industries including C-suite, sales, marketing, engineering, customer service, human resources, supply chain and production. John helps organizational leaders leverage strengths, navigate weaknesses and successfully align with and influence peers.Recent work has included facilitating comprehensive, assessment-based coaching, executive search and C-suite performance and incentive processes. In all that John does, he focuses on the leader's duty to think widely and deeply about complex issues in order to craft lasting solutions. Originally from Canberra, Australia, John is a former Outward Bound management development and research coordinator who facilitated leadership and team growth in the Australian Outback. He formerly directed the program services of Starr Commonwealth's EverGreen Center for Personal and Professional Development. John is co-author of What Great Teams Do Great: How Ordinary People Accomplish the Extraordinary and 50 DOs for Everyday Leadership: Lessons Learned the Hard Way (So You Don't Have To). John holds the ACI (American Confidence Institute), ACE Coach Accelerator ( and ICF (International Coaching Federation) certifications. He has an honors degree in psychology from the Australian National University. John believes in integrity, courage and a strong duty of care for his family, clients and the Humanergy team. One of his favorite quotes is "let your life speak," and John strives to live a life that is consistent with his values of authenticity, continuous learning and amplifying the greater good.

Tiffany Funk

Tiffany Funk is 110% motivated to make sure that Humanergy's clients receive the best possible services. In addition to managing many of the details of program marketing, delivery and evaluation, she creates materials and presentations that are rich in content and enhance learning. Tiffany develops online surveys of all types and administers Humanergy's ELP360 leadership assessment to help individuals and teams gauge progress. As if that weren't enough, Tiffany makes sure that leaders build capability through blogs and other informative communications. Tiffany graduated from The Ohio State University (O-H!) with a B.A. in psychology and minored in art history. Her past experience includes almost ten years in the social services field with an emphasis on community outreach. As a transplant from Ohio, Tiffany enjoys exploring all that Michigan has to offer. She especially enjoys anything in the great outdoors. Camping, boating and skiing are a few of her favorite hobbies. Tiffany is navigating a dynamic and fun life with her husband and two small children.
