Aaron Teves

Job Titles:

Aaron Teves received his Bachelor of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design, where his coursework focused on Nature-Culture-Sustainability studies. An interest in printmaking and photography brings Aaron a nuanced understanding of material ethics and the importance of expressing space in three-dimensional productions. Along with this studies and travels at RISD, participating in programs such as the 2019 Artist Residency in Rome (European Honors Program) and a Portugal research trip focusing on sustainable building practices and materials, his worldly curiosity sent him to Seoul, South Korea for an Architectural History and Culture course on house and home. These influences continue to materialize throughout his design work, expanding the output of his team. Aaron's design work has been recognized with a Henry Adams Medal from the American Institute of Architecture (AIA). As a Martha's Vineyard native, born and raised on the Island, Aaron is attuned to the history and culture of the Island. His understanding of context throughout the design process is integral to the Hutker Architects team.

Ally Hess

Ally received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from Roger Williams University, complemented by the studies of Sustainability and History of Art and Architecture during her undergraduate experience. Ally's upbringing in Germany and her extensive travel experiences lead to substantial exposure and a consequential appreciation for incredible architecture from a young age. As illustrated by her minor, Ally's interests lay in sustainable design that focuses on the human experience as well as the study of site and environment. Her passion for design earned her multiple Roger Williams University accolades, including an Architecture Freshman Design Award as well as the coveted Master of Architecture Thesis Award.

Ally Stecich

Her positivity and energy extend a warm welcome to guests visiting the office, as well as the disposition to lend a helping hand of support to the Hutker team.

Anthony Bené

Anthony Bené received his bachelor of art and master of architecture from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Tony's attention to detail and gift for communication make him a skilled presenter. Whether coordinating between multiple projects or creating quality drawings under tight deadlines, he manages information successfully and is adept at producing both digital and hand renderings. Hands-on knowledge of carpentry informs Tony's design work, as well as his community efforts volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.

Anthony Kho

Anthony joined Hutker Architects with a Master of Art in Interior Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and comprehensive involvement in the planning, designing, and construction of interior buildings. Anthony's design background includes a range of projects in residential, hospitality and retail sectors, allowing him a full understanding of the ways in which the built environment has an impact on how people experience different places.

Audrey Snare

After receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University, Audrey started her career as an architectural designer in the Greater Boston area and then Jackson, WY before joining the HA team on Martha's Vineyard. With more than 10 years of experience specializing in custom high-end residential homes, Audrey applies her unmatched enthusiasm for design and varied experience in interior and exterior architecture to each project. Audrey's experience in project management and client relations, and her passion for the firm's internal growth, has honed her skills as a leader and collaborator, qualities that contributed to her recognition from the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) PRISM awards program as a 2021 Rising Star of the Year. In addition to these design accomplishments, Audrey also shares her energy and talents with the local island community, having made significant contributions to HA's work with Habitat for Humanity. You can find Audrey outdoors on the weekend exploring the island both on land and on the water with her dog Addy.

Bernadette Robinson

Bernadette Robinson received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with High Distinction, from the Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University. She brings extensive accounting experience from prior posts in both luxury hospitality and education. Bernadette's problem-solving leadership and analytical skills make her an integral asset to the Hutker Architects team. She is responsible for supervising all accounting-related functions and implementing effective procedures to make HA operations run smoothly. Outside of the office, Bernadette is affiliated with a number of organizations and committees, including serving as Vice Chair of the Board of Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation and volunteering with Cape Kid Meals.

Brittany Knowlton

Brittany earned a Master of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Her technical precision along with her creative thinking aligned perfectly to pursue a career in architecture, granting her the opportunity to balance the two qualities to produce functional and aesthetic works of art. Brittany's commitment to intentional design and attention to the influence of place and family narratives propel HA's mission to develop functional and dynamic spaces for our clients. In addition to bringing her expertise in 3D modeling and rendering to the firm, Brittany continues to advance her artistic and creative talents through a range of mediums, including watercolor, printmaking, drawing and studying classical guitar.

Carol Ann Livingstone

She is also a skilled writer and musician

Casey Noonan

Her portfolio, including a world-renowned public accounting firm and a major public company, has provided her with the necessary skillset and results-driven attitude that will elevate Hutker Architects' business administration team.

Charles Orr

Charles Orr received his bachelor of architecture from North Dakota State University. He has more than 28 years of experience with both residential and commercial development throughout New England. Since joining Hutker Architects in 1993, Charles has become a principal of the firm and leads the Falmouth office. His business acumen provides focus and direction for the health and growth of the company. He is also a leader in sustainable initiatives firm wide and was an early integrator of LEED standards in residential architecture. A dedicated volunteer, Charles has served for many years on the boards of the Falmouth Historical District Commission and the Falmouth Main Street Revitalization Project. His biggest passion is his work with Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod, where he has served on the Land Acquisition Committee since 2009 and on the board of directors since 2012, and for which he was recognized with a community impact award in 2014.

Christian Donato

Cory Pereira

With a Bachelor of Architecture from Roger Williams University and a Master of Architecture from California's Academy of Art University, Cory excels at managing multiple projects while maintaining a record of the highest customer satisfaction. In addition to his professional pursuits, Cory has used his knowledge and expertise to benefit community outreach projects, including the expansion of the M4 Reactor Makers Space on the shore of Maryland.

Deepa Parthasarathy

Deepa Parthasarathy received her bachelor of architecture from the National Institute of Technology in Maharashtra, India, and her master of architecture from the University of Cincinnati. Deepa has more than a decade of experience in architectural design and is skilled at many facets of residential projects - from floor plans and visualization models to construction documentation and project administration. Deepa consistently demonstrates a strong ability to analyze problems and develop solutions to any challenge that arises during a project, immensely contributing to the technical development of the firm and taking the initiative to research new products and materials that have a positive impact on the homes that Hutker Architects produces for our clients. Based on these accomplishments, Deepa received the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) PRISM award for Most Valuable Team Member in 2021.

Diana Lin

Eder Romero

Eder Romero received his bachelor of architecture from the Universidad de San Pedro Sula and his master of interior architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. A licensed architect in his native Honduras, Eder has managed the conceptual design process through construction of many projects ranging from residential, to commercial and production facilities. He is adept at the development of CAD design and construction plans, as well as 3D models and renderings, and has a background in topics of Sustainability and Adaptive Reuse.

Elias Christo

Erin received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Suffolk University. Since joining Hutker Architects in 2006, Erin has worked on a wide variety of residential projects within the firm. She is an organized and efficient project manager, responsible for all aspects of project coordination and construction administration. Erin has a strong interest in specialized details and enjoys the challenge of researching and using new building materials and methodologies to create custom solutions for clients. Her knowledge of construction materials has been an integral part of many of the firm's recent successes.

Graham Parks

Greg Whiting

Greg Whiting received his Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech. A skilled draftsman with an interest in the experiential aspects of spatial design, Greg excels at on-site analysis and technical documentation. Experience in both plastics machinery and residential carpentry bring a three-dimensional understanding to Greg's design work.

Gregory Ehrman

Greg received both his Bachelor of Art and Master of Architecture from Northeastern University. His passion for innovative design and the building sciences has pushed the firm forward with a number of award-winning, energy-positive buildings that are both high-performing and in harmony with the vernacular architecture of coastal New England. Since joining the firm in 2000, Greg has been an energetic advocate for clients throughout the construction process and has been influential in creating new energy benchmarks within the firm. He was central in the development of Hutker's first "passive house," a zero net energy building on Martha's Vineyard. In recognition of his exceptional work, Greg received one of New England Home magazine's 5 Under 40 awards in 2014. Greg also lends his energy and imagination to his community. He spearheaded a design and fundraising campaign for the Niantic Park Playground which is in the Cottage City Historic District of Oak Bluffs, is a founding member and former vice president of the Martha's Vineyard Builders Association, and serves as a board member for the Vineyard Montessori School. Greg lives in Oak Bluffs with his wife Holly and their two daughters.

Jake Lefeber

Jim Cappuccino

A Massachusetts native, Jim Cappuccino received his bachelor of architecture from Roger Williams University. After graduation, he spent several years with a prominent western mountain region residential design firm where his work garnered numerous design awards and editorial coverage before returning east to join Hutker Architects in 2005. He was named Principal in 2013. Jim believes in architecture that celebrates its context while interpreting the regional vernacular with designs that are both modern and timeless. Often elevating the discourse at Hutker Architects, he fosters a collaborative design environment, models firm standards for client service and is an active mentor within the firm. Jim also leads workshops for young students interested in design careers. Licensed in Massachusetts, Wyoming, Vermont, and Maine, he is an active member of the American Institute of Architects, the Boston Society of Architects, and the Upper Cape Toastmasters Club.

John A. DiSalvo

John A. DiSalvo earned his Master of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design following his undergraduate studies at Boston University. John's interest in innovation and background in luxury housing contribute greatly to the HA team. His extensive knowledge of design software, model building, and hand sketching has given him the skills and credentials to educate students at MIT, Rhode Island School of Design, and New York City College of Technology. John is currently teaching part-time at the Boston Architectural College.

John Kim

John Kim received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of New South Wales, continuing on to earn a Master of Interior Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University in New York City. Following a successful 15-year architecture and interior design career in NYC with projects ranging from retail to townhomes to large-scale urban projects, John sought to bring his innovative ideas and technical prowess to a new context where there is a healthy balance between design and construction. His intuitive grasp of geometry and physics, his architectural design sensibility, and an uncanny eye for potential design conflicts allow him to be an integral member of the HA team.

Jonathan Fox

Jonathan received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture at Roger Williams University. Before joining Hutker Architects in 2010, Jonathan apprenticed a Master Carpenter, providing valuable insight into the building trades that informs both his design projects and construction management work. In the office, he is highly skilled at AutoCAD, SketchUp, SU Podium Rendering, Photoshop, and InDesign, and he is centrally involved in the implementation of HA's software and IT infrastructure. Jonathan is a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod.

Julie Bangert

A writer and editor with more than ten years' experience in brand development, she previously directed sales and marketing for a nationally recognized fine art gallery and worked as a grant-writer and major gifts officer in the non-profit world. As marketing director, she oversees the firm's advertising, public relations and community involvement initiatives, helping to distill the firm's unique design narrative for audiences around the country. Since joining the team in 2014, she has contributed significantly to Hutker Architects' latest book and guided the re-design of the firm's new branding and website.

Karen Chesney

Kevin Schreur

Kevin received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. Since joining Hutker Architects in 2003, he has worked on a diverse range of projects including several nationally recognized residences. Kevin is a focused designer with a highly-developed skill set in construction detailing and technical writing. These attributes, combined with Kevin's ability to analyze and critique structural systems, have been pivotal in advancing some of the firm's most innovative work. An able problem solver, Kevin is known for examining projects holistically, and distilling appropriate solutions in details large and small. He is also a great writer and collector of mid-century modern furnishings.

Laura Brooks

Mackenzie Pratt

Mark A. Hutker - Founder

A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Mark Hutker received his bachelor of architecture from the University of Cincinnati. After working with longtime mentor Jon McKee at Symmes Maini & McKee Associates in Cambridge, Mark joined Dunn Brady Associates in 1985 on Martha's Vineyard. He purchased the company three years later and has since built it into a firm of forty- professionals now serving the communities of Martha's Vineyard, Cape Cod, and greater New England. Mark has served on numerous charitable boards including Island Elderly Housing, Northeastern University's School of Architecture, and at Falmouth Academy, where he was Chair of the Facilities Committee, leading the development of a 10-point master plan over the last decade. The process included programming, design, consensus building, approvals, fundraising and construction, addressing issues from public safety and circulation to landscape beautification and the creation of an athletic stadium, all school meeting room, outdoor learning room, and a new performing arts center. Particularly dedicated to supporting design education, Mark is a co-founder and board member of the Lyceum Fellowship, which awards international travel grants to college students pursuing architecture, and a Cabinet member for the Leaders of Design Council. Mark writes and lectures widely; recent engagements include the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Design Intelligence, AIA Custom Residential Architects Network, Residential Architect, and the Architectural Digest Home Show.

Matt Schiffer

Matt earned his Bachelor of Architecture at the Boston Architectural Center. His career began more than 30 years ago, working with his father Joseph J. Schiffer AIA. Before joining Hutker Architects in 2001, Matt worked for several well-known architecture firms in the Boston area, where he gained considerable experience designing for commercial, religious, hospitality, and educational spaces. He designs houses with an eye for beauty and an understanding of the way details, large and small, work together to create meaningful spaces for clients. Matt's passion for hand rendering is matched with exceptional talent. His architectural drawings, many of which have been published in books and national magazines, are an emblem for the finely detailed custom work with which the firm is associated. Matt has taken post-graduate courses in landscape design, photography and art history at the Massachusetts College of Art and Harvard's Graduate School of Design. In the community, he has volunteered his time with the Cape Cod Modern House Trust, Habitat for Humanity, and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. A coach for youth soccer in local and travel teams, Matt is also an avid power boater, fisherman, road- and mountain biker, and has recently taken up Laser racing.

Matthew Cramer

Matthew received his Bachelor of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Previous experience in Pennsylvania, New York, and New England exposed Matt to a wide range of project types - from custom residential and mixed-use development to hotels and equestrian facilities. He began working with Hutker Architects in 2004 and has become a firm leader in project management, known for his superior ability to interpret technical information, deftly navigating complex projects within the fast-changing parameters of building codes, zoning bylaws, and permitting processes. He is a talented designer with a particular passion for lighting details.

Michael Black

Nancy Swensson

Nancy received her Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University. Nancy joined Hutker Architects in 2011, and serves in a critical role as executive assistant to Mark Hutker. From schedule organization and meeting coordination to researching and preparing presentations, she is highly skilled at prioritizing, multitasking, and communicating effectively. Before joining Hutker Architects, Nancy held a position as Executive Assistant to the President and COO of a design/build firm and was responsible for coordinating project permits.

Nicole Mant - CHRO

Nicole received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Trinity College, Connecticut. Since rejoining the firm in 2013, she's worked as a part of the marketing team as well as the business operations division of Hutker Architects and is an integral part of the human resources team. Nicole is responsible for the day-to-day functions of the human resource departments for all office locations and works hands-on with employee relations, training, recruitment, and benefit management.

Oliver Orwig

Oliver received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami, studying art, architecture, and history both state-side and abroad. His European travels gave him the opportunity to work on various design projects including a Renaissance villa, a history museum, and a bell tower. Following his academic endeavors, Oliver has gained experience working across a variety of market sectors for award-winning architecture firms in the Greater Boston Area. As a south shore native, Oliver joined the Kingston Local Historic District Committee where he serves as a local board member to explore the creation of a local historic commission for the town.

Olivia Martin

Philip J. Regan

A Martha's Vineyard native, Phil Regan received his bachelor of architecture from the University of Miami before returning to the Island in 1988 to begin a three-year professional internship with Dunn Brady Architects (now named Hutker Architects). By 1991, his local knowledge in both architectural vernacular and construction techniques led him to a stay with the growing company, advancing through leadership roles and achieving Managing Principal of Hutker Architects' Martha's Vineyard office in 2004, where he continues to lead design teams on the creation of award-winning custom residential projects both on- and off the Island. In the community, Phil has served on the board of the Sherriff's Meadow Foundation since 2011, and is a founding member of The Cottage City Historic District Commission where he has been an acting commissioner since 2003. He was appointed to the board of directors for the new MV Museum in 2017. Phil has been an active advocate for youth sports on the island since 1998, coaching baseball at the high school level, as well as with the Martha's Vineyard Little League, Babe Ruth and MV travel baseball programs. He also coached MV travel basketball and spent several years with both the football and basketball programs at the Boys and Girls Club. Phil has often combined his professional expertise with his community efforts, acting as a design consultant and fundraising champion in the creation of both the "Shark Tank" (2007) and "Penn Field" (2015). Both projects have become Island landmarks within the baseball community. Phil lives in Oak Bluffs with his wife Debbie, a native islander as well, and their three children.

Rashmi Ravishankar

Robert Aryee

Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He joined Hutker Architects in 2010, with previous experience in landscape design and luxury retail. Ryan is known for his natural eye for detail and innate ability to analyze visual information quickly. His outstanding computer graphics skills allow him to deftly navigate and communicate scheduling project requirements with internal and external teams. In project management, he consistently goes above and beyond role requirements, managing multiple projects and deadlines, while developing solutions that advance the design of each project. Ryan was recognized in 2019 as an Industry Rising Star by the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) for his talent, mentorship, and collaborative spirit within the firm.

Sarah Shriber Ives

Sarah Shriber Ives received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan and her Master of Interior Architecture from the New England School of Art and Design. With a diverse background in both three-dimensional and graphic design, Sarah brings both conceptual understanding and detailed follow-through to her work. She is an energetic designer who strives to create memorable spaces, drawing inspiration from her love of the outdoors.

Sarah Soltes

Sarah Soltes earned her Bachelor and Masters degrees, both in architecture, from Northeastern University. A certified LEED Green Associate, Sarah has strong drawing and graphic modeling skills as well as experience with both residential and urban, high-rise scaled projects.

Scott McCullough

Scott McCullough received his bachelor of science and master of architecture from Norwich University. A project manager with experience in commercial, institutional, and residential design, he brings attention to detail and a spirit of collaboration to all of his work. Scott values architecture that inspires thought while respecting the natural world. He has earned accreditation through both LEED and ENERGY STAR and, notably, recently designed and built his own net-zero energy home.

Sean Dougherty

Sean received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from Northeastern University. Since joining Hutker Architects in 2007, Sean has become a leader in the firm's sustainability efforts and was the first staff member to become accredited as a LEED AP for Homes with the U.S. Green Building Council. An experienced project manager, Sean blends a strong appreciation for architecture, with a sensitive understanding of context - he is able to navigate the influence of regional vernacular with the need for sustainable building practices and has been instrumental in the design, management, and completion of multiple LEED for Homes certified projects on Martha's Vineyard, as well as the firm's first Certified Passive House in 2017 As a key member of Hutker Architects' Stewardship, Energy and Technology (S.E.T.) Team, he has guided our team in coordinating projects that comply with the firm's design & sustainability goals. Sean lives in Oak Bluffs with his wife Adrianne and their daughter.

Stacey Sarber

With experience in various aspects of project management - from technical drawing to vendor and client correspondence, Stacey brings strong organizational skills and a sense of visual order to her design work.

Susie Himel

Susie attended Nicholls State University, Louisiana. She joined Hutker Architects in 2001 and is a pivotal team member responsible for the day to day office management for the Martha's Vineyard office. Organized and conscientious, Susie also plays major roles firm-wide in contract composition, database management, award submissions, and the organization of information flow between branches. She volunteers for the Sheriff's Meadow Foundation, Sail Martha's Vineyard, Martha's Vineyard Community Services and serves as the Secretary for Vineyard Baseball, Inc.

Thomas McNeill

Thomas received his Bachelor of Architecture from Boston Architectural College. A talented draftsman (digitally and manually), Tom has become an important part of the team since joining Hutker Architects in 2010. He has advanced projects with his forte for progressive design as well as his excellent planning and management skills. Tom's penchant for communicating makes him a strong client advocate and a natural mentor within the firm. He also shares his design talents with the community, having made significant contributions to Hutker's work with Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod.

Tom Shockey

Tom received his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech with a minor in Environmental Policy and Planning. Prior to joining Hutker Architects in 2010, Tom interned with three diverse architecture firms and was part of the design/build team for an innovative solar concept house which received multiple international design awards including an AIA Presidential Award. Skilled in AutoCAD, digital and hand model making, he is an idea-based designer currently responsible for both project coordination and construction administration. Tom also shares his creativity outside of the office and recently designed a chicken coop made entirely from recycled materials collected at job sites. The successful model garnered two similar commissions.

Weston Halkyard

Weston Halkyard received his bachelor of architecture from Syracuse University. Study abroad in Florence Italy, along with a background in stone masonry, granted Weston an interest in and an understanding for both classical design concepts and intrinsic material integration. Particularly detail oriented, he excels in conceptualizing spatial quality and organization, material specifications, 3-D visuals and rendering.

Whitney Bickford

She serves a critical role at the Plymouth location of Hutker Architects, providing administrative and project support for the team. Whitney is well-versed in the unique South Shore/Boston area and is an asset to the planning and execution of project-related tasks.

Zach Fields

Zach joins Hutker Architects equipped with a Bachelor of Environmental Science from SUNY ESF and a Master of Architecture from the University at Buffalo, SUNY. Although initially inspired to pursue pharmaceutical sciences for an eventual pre-med path, Zach's interest in and passion for architecture combines his love of design with the science of creating a better future both socially and environmentally. As his undergraduate studies suggest, Zach brings a special interest in sustainable design to Hutker Architects, allowing him to approach projects with consideration for LEED, WELL, Passive House, and the ways in which sustainability can seamlessly mesh into the daily lifestyle of a home's occupants. Originally from upstate New York, Zach moved to Boston in September of 2020, citing the diverse landscapes and towns within New England as an influential draw. His creative endeavors extend beyond architecture, learning the art of glass blowing upon moving to Massachusetts, and continuing to hone the craft in his free time.
