Fabian is a multi-disciplinary graphic designer with 15+ years experience. He is currently a Principal at the Interaction Consortium.
I have been at the Interaction Consortium since September 2016.
Throughout my career I have worked in various fields such as print, branding, editorial design and web design/frontend development. I'm someone who likes to get his hands dirty at all stages of the design process, from early research and conceptualisation right through to the final execution. And that's pretty much how I got into web development: rather than watch other people create my designs I wanted to do it myself.
Job Titles:
- Developer
- Principal
- Web Developer
Principal developer at the Interaction with 15 years of experience as a "web developer". Works on UX, backend, frontend development and a touch of project management.
I'm currently a principal developer at the IC. I have first worked with the IC in 2014 and joined full-time in 2018.
I like building useful and good-looking applications and websites. I therefore always focus first on User eXperience (UX). It's better when things actually work and are maintainable (for the customers and the team sanity) so I truly like clean-code and automated testing. Nothing beats Test Driven Development in my opinion.
Before joining the IC, I've worked for several digital agencies including Digital Eskimo and Piran Digital. I was also a freelancer for two years.
James has two decades experience building Internet systems, from enterprise applications to highly customised websites to research projects for the CSIRO to deeply understanding emerging cloud technologies. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, a journey that saw many late nights in dimly lit recording studios. I also received a New Zealand Certificate in Applied Software Development from a coding bootcamp before joining The Interaction Consortium.
I think the best things in life are on the other side of discomfort so I'm always trying to find ways to learn and grow. Moving to Sydney is one of those ways.
Outside of work, I'm currently deep diving into the world of Tai Chi, exploring its health benefits as well as its martial arts aspects. I also enjoy discussions about life over a good cup of tea.
