Brad Shapiro - President

Brad founded the Jabber Five Real Estate Group in 2006 and is responsible for the strategic decisions necessary to effectuate a successful transaction. Brad dedicates his time to identifying and underwriting prospective acquisitions and dispositions. He also actively seeks to cultivate and foster new and existing relationships with well respected participants within the capital stack. Prior to the creation of Jabber Five, Brad worked from 2004-2006 at LNR Property Corporation in Miami Beach as a Loan Asset Manager. There, he managed a portfolio of performing and non-performing securitized loans. In two years, Brad resolved over 120 loans with an aggregate loan balance of approximately $1 billion. From 2002-2004, Brad worked as an Associate at The Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group in New York City where he structured senior and mezzanine debt as well as joint-venture equity. He participated in over $500 million of real estate financings including acquisitions, recapitalizations, joint-venture equity arrangements and note sales. From 1999-2001, Brad worked as an Acquisitions Analyst at Equity One, Inc., one of the largest retail REITs in the country. At Equity One, Brad was involved in the acquisition of two REITs with an aggregate portfolio of over 50 grocery-anchored shopping centers valued at approximately $450 million at that time. Brad holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Michigan and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Maryland. Brad is an active member of the Baltimore Angels, the Mount Vernon Belvedere Association, the Charles Street Development Corporation and the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Matt Garono - Founder

Matt is co-founder of Jabber Five's boutique brokerage platform, CREative Solutions, which was established in 2018 to redefine the relationship between a Landlord and a Tenant. Matt thoughtfully leads this effort so that local small businesses may rely on us, local market experts, to implement strategies for their space requirements and deeply explore opportunities to empower these small businesses to obtain ownership in the real estate that they occupy. Further, Matt has been in the real estate brokerage business since 2007 and recently graduated from Georgetown University with a Master's Degree in Real Estate Development. Matt grew up in Harford County and currently lives in Fell's Point. Matt is a seasoned real estate investor, asset manager and property manager and has successfully co-sponsored joint ventures in commercial real estate transactions of all the major property types including retail, office, apartments and land development.

Misty Brown

Misty joined the Jabber Five team in 2017 and serves as Senior Project Manager. In this role, she supports the planning, budgeting and execution of current and future projects. Misty's focus is to add value to our portfolio as well as expand Jabber Five's reach, impact, and presence throughout Baltimore and the surrounding areas. She passionately fosters the relationships with our existing tenants, vendors and partners while always welcoming the opportunity to establish and cultivate new relationships. Misty joined Jabber Five Real Estate Group with more than 12 years of experience in mortgage underwriting and real estate asset management. She's previously held titled positions at HSBC and Andrews Federal Credit Union. Misty holds an Associate Degree in Business Management, a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and Economic Development and will graduate from the University of Baltimore with her Master's Degree in Finance. Misty previously served on the Officers Board of The University of Baltimore's and as Treasurer for the Real Estate and Economic Development Association (REEDA). Misty is also an active member of the E-Church Investment Group.
