My career in law librarianship began over twenty years ago and I am happy to have found a profession I love. What do law firm reference librarians do? We connect our attorneys with the information they need as efficiently as possible. We have expert knowledge of reference materials across all practice areas. We bring value to our firms because we know how to find answers quickly; we save attorney time. Our firms bill clients for the time we spend on research projects. We research legislative, executive, and judicial materials at all levels of government (federal, state, and local). We research international legal materials. We research news archives, company records, and regulatory disclosure filings. We work with many information tools, including Bloomberg Law, Lexis, and Westlaw. We train attorneys and other firm employees to use such tools. We review new print and electronic resources to improve our library collections.
